"Not another foot." Those were the words Joe Biden used as a mantra throughout his 2020 presidential campaign regarding the construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall. But on Thursday, the Biden administration approved a plan to complete a section of the border wall near Yuma, Arizona. The plan includes filling four major gaps in the wall that continue to allow the Yuma area to be one of the busiest corridors for illegal immigration crossings.

Joe Biden previously admonished Donald Trump over the wall and his immigration policies.

I am sure it has absolutely nothing to do with garnering the vote(s) of Senator Kyrsten Sinema, at all. Nope. Nada. /s

Now he’s getting some common sense? His handlers will see it as proof that he needs to go, and soon.

Given the shift in Hispanic voting patterns, he probably now thinks it’s imperative to keep future Trump voters out of the country. :)

They are throwing a life-line to Senator Kelly who is in a very tight race on for an issue that is really hurting him.
Notice that there is NOTHING about finishing the wall in Texas?
I would bet there will be NOTHING built, but a lot of study going into November so they can secure a senate seat for 6 years........
This is not being the “President for all Americans”. It is purely a political calculation that makes no effort to secure the border and it will be back to business as usual in November.
PS - they trashed the wall construction so badly that the spin-up will take a really long time if they even find a contractor to do it.

““Quietly”? DHS announced it.”
It’s not a politician’s announcement that is quiet or loud. It’s whether the media plays it into their big microphones. It’s the media’s decision.
Do I assume here that the media is a single entity? That’s a subject for another discussion.

The Democrats consider the Arizona US Senate Election as winnable. They’ll cancel the wall after the election.
