The Red Sox began to die when the Yawkeys sold out. Born in Boston, was a fan from early childhood. Fled Massachusetts in 1977, never to return. Sad, but not sorry to call myself a refugee. All I feel now is schadenfreude.

WHAT???

The best thing for the Red Sox was the Yawkey family selling the team. They finally put some money into Fenway Park. It was a terrible place to go a game. Now it is great.
Plus they actually spent the money to get some good players so they could compete with the YANKEES.
They have had four championships since the Yawkeys sold the team. We all know how many they had previous to 2004. When Babe Ruth was on the team.
