WHAT???

The best thing for the Red Sox was the Yawkey family selling the team. They finally put some money into Fenway Park. It was a terrible place to go a game. Now it is great.
Plus they actually spent the money to get some good players so they could compete with the YANKEES.
They have had four championships since the Yawkeys sold the team. We all know how many they had previous to 2004. When Babe Ruth was on the team.

This year the Red Sox are bringing true excitement to baseball.

Nobody can figure out whether they will be buyers or sellers by the trade deadline.

They are bad enough to throw in the towel by selling top players with contracts expiring soon, but they are just good enough to tempt ownership to throw down big bucks in a last ditch effort to make the playoffs.

Now that is drama!

;-)

Joe Cronin, Jimmy Foxx, Lefty Grove among many. Tom Yawkey bought those players in the 1930s to compete with the Yankees. He spent a lot of money trying to win.
