Reflection On The Sorry State Of Canada
Youtube ^ | July 27, 2022 | Jordan B. Peterson

Posted on 07/27/2022 11:44:46 AM PDT by A Formerly Proud Canadian

I have had the great privilege of travelling to 40 American cities in just about as many states and to 15 European countries in the last four months, in the waning days of the great COVID panic, and I have learned many things about our great and self-conscious nation.

First: I have not travelled anywhere else where the citizens and the government are more neurotically “concerned” about the pandemic. It may have escaped Canadians’ notice, but virtually nowhere else in the developed world is it now required to wear a mask, as is still mandatory in many of Canada’s airports and on flights out of our benighted country. There is absolutely no excuse for this, except the punitive self-righteousness of the Trudeau Liberals. What else might you expect, however, from a government that also includes Chrystia Freeland, a deputy prime minister who has bragged about her colleagues’ appalling economic performance, claiming that it is actually good for Canadians to empty their wallets at the gas pumps, because of its implications in fighting the “climate emergency.” I simply cannot believe that this absolute failure of economic policy is now being trumpeted as a positive accomplishment. Here’s a hint for you saintly progressives: if you cared about the poor (the real poor, not the hypothetical poor you are hypothetically saving in the future), you would seek to drive down the cost of energy — energy that is precisely equivalent to work and, therefore, to the wealth that ameliorates poverty.

This is a long video (22 minutes) by Dr. Peterson, based upon an opinion piece that he wrote for the National Post. Here is the link to that article

Peterson absolutely ravages True-dolt and his partner in government, Jagmeet Singh, leader of the Canadian socialist New Democratic Party! He discusses True-dolt's dictatorial response to the CCP-coronavirus CONdemic, the Freedom Convoy crackdown, the judiciary that just bows to True-dolt's diktats and Bill C-11, a censorship law that is the MOST stifling in the West and may be MORE restrictive than even Russia, Ukraine, People's Republic of China, or even North Korea.

As much as I despise and ridicule True-dolt, I am a piker compared to Dr. Peterson. He thoroughly despises the dictator and systematically slices, dices and chops True-dolt's actions and comments in such an amazing way. A very good vloh by the doctor, and one that should be viewed before it is removed by the YouTube censors.

I love Peterson, in spite of the several blind spots in his worldview. He speaks the kind of common sense truth most of us here know in our hearts, and he backs it up with eloquence and science.

BILL C-11
An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts
Skip to Document Navigation
AS PASSED
BY THE HOUSE OF COMMONS
June 21, 2022
91024

SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Broadcasting Act to, among other things,

(a) add online undertakings — undertakings for the transmission or retransmission of programs over the Internet — as a distinct class of broadcasting undertakings;

(b) specify that the Act does not apply in respect of programs uploaded to an online undertaking that provides a social media service by a user of the service, unless the programs are prescribed by regulation;

(c) update the broadcasting policy for Canada set out in section 3 of the Act by, among other things, providing that the Canadian broadcasting system should

(i) serve the needs and interests of all Canadians, including Canadians from racialized communities and Canadians of diverse ethnocultural backgrounds, socio-economic statuses, abilities and disabilities, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and ages, and

(ii) provide opportunities to Indigenous persons, programming that reflects Indigenous cultures and that is in Indigenous languages, and programming that is accessible without barriers to persons with disabilities;

(d) enhance the vitality of official language minority communities in Canada and foster the full recognition and use of both English and French in Canadian society, including by supporting the production and broadcasting of original programs in both languages;

(e) specify that the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (the “Commission”) must regulate and supervise the Canadian broadcasting system in a manner that

(i) takes into account the different characteristics of English, French and Indigenous language broadcasting and the different conditions under which broadcasting undertakings that provide English, French or Indigenous language programming operate,

(ii) takes into account, among other things, the nature and diversity of the services provided by broadcasting undertakings,

(iii) ensures that any broadcasting undertaking that cannot make maximum or predominant use of Canadian creative and other human resources in the creation, production and presentation of programming contributes to those Canadian resources in an equitable manner,

(iv) facilitates the provision to Canadians of Canadian programs in both official languages, including those created and produced by official language minority communities in Canada, as well as Canadian programs in Indigenous languages,

(v) facilitates the provision of programs that are accessible without barriers to persons with disabilities,

(vi) facilitates the provision to Canadians of programs created and produced by members of Black or other racialized communities, and

(vii) takes into account the variety of broadcasting undertakings to which the Act applies and avoids imposing obligations on any class of broadcasting undertakings if that imposition will not contribute in a material manner to the implementation of the broadcasting policy;

(f) amend the procedure relating to the issuance by the Governor in Council of policy directions to the Commission;

(g) replace the Commission’s power to impose conditions on a licence with a power to make orders imposing conditions on the carrying on of broadcasting undertakings;

(h) provide the Commission with the power to require that persons carrying on broadcasting undertakings make expenditures to support the Canadian broadcasting system;

(i) authorize the Commission to provide information to the Minister responsible for that Act, the Chief Statistician of Canada and the Commissioner of Competition, and set out in that Act a process by which a person who submits certain types of information to the Commission may designate the information as confidential;

(j) amend the procedure by which the Governor in Council may, under section 28 of that Act, set aside a decision of the Commission to issue, amend or renew a licence or refer such a decision back to the Commission for reconsideration and hearing;

(k) specify that a person shall not carry on a broadcasting undertaking, other than an online undertaking, unless they do so in accordance with a licence or they are exempt from the requirement to hold a licence;

(l) harmonize the punishments for offences under Part II of that Act and clarify that a due diligence defence applies to the existing offences set out in that Act; and

(m) allow for the imposition of administrative monetary penalties for violations of certain provisions of that Act or of the Accessible Canada Act.

The enactment also makes related and consequential amendments to other Acts.

I would think that Xi Jinping and his cohorts in the REAL PRC, may be reviewing this piece of schitt legislation for ways to 'improve' THEIR nation's legislation, with a view to FURTHER controlling their people!

I’d like to see a SEAL team pay a visit to Canaduh, purely for a ‘vacation’ and to visit withour Prime Mistake. Unfortunately, that won’t happen until January 2025, at the earliest.

” It may have escaped Canadians’ notice, but virtually nowhere else in the developed world is it now required to wear a mask, as is still mandatory in many of Canada’s airports and on flights out of our benighted country.”

I subscribe to Noel Philipps travel channel and during 2020/21 on visits to other nations, the guard and immigration guys aren’t even wearing masks, especially Africa.

Virtue signaling is all the rage for Canadians. It’s hard to get a number on the amount of Canadians who oppose this, as we are quite shy even if we know we are in the right. I think secretly many Canadians think global warming is a con, be we don’t dare rock the boat. Same with the LGBT craziness, but if you want to keep your job keep silent. Major corporations and the government are pushing the LGBT wagon.

We can hardly keep up with grocery costs and gas, and Trudeau’s non solution is to add more gas tax.

Liberals hate it when I say this but if I had a chance to go back in time I’d have a hard time deciding whether I want to eliminate Hitler or Pierre Trudeau.

Son lives in Halifax NS, does engineering for the provincial government. He says NS is “under the radar,” the national government isn’t concerned with the province as much as it is in screwing up Ontario and Quebec.

Just got back from Vancouver Island yesterday.
Covid app filled out three days before leaving, Masks on plane and in airports, paper straws, $6.75 per gallon gas, and climate-change alarmists talking on the radio in what has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. A travesty.

I live in ‘shared accommodation’. Two years ago, I was blessed with a roommate who talked about shortages coming at the beginning of the CCP-Coronavirus CONdemic in 2020. I took some heed and started stockpiling certain canned goods and dry goods, beans, legumes, pasta, etc. I’d eat some and replace it. I find that Costco often has ‘sales’ on these long-lasting goods. That is when I ‘stock up’.

At a ‘normal’ rate of consumption, I have at least a month’s worth of food. When the SHTF, I should be able to stretch that to 2-3 months. As prices continue to rise, I can supplement ‘fresh’ food with canned goods.

My position on the unnecessary shots is well known at my work, being one of three (out of 75) who refused the shots. I’m quite certain that there will be a huge ‘push’ in the Fall, to force everyone to take the ‘shots’. Because of my beliefs, I will NOT take ANY of the existing ‘sera’. If you force EVERYONE to take the ‘shots’, you remove the ‘control group’ from the ‘Great COVID shot experiment’. No control group, no proof of malfeasance!

I have a little cash set aside, since dictator True-dolt started seizing bank accounts without ‘process’, let alone ‘due process’, in addition to food. Even if I get laid off for being a ‘refusenik’, and get banned from Unemployment Insurance, I should have enough to carry me until I can get a job.

I have NOTHING they can use to coerce me to take this shot, or any other that I disagree with. I have no wife, don’t even know where my former wife is, no kids, an 18 year old ‘beater’ car, no house, minimal retirement savings, etc. I have NOTHING they can leverage to ‘force’ me to do ANYTHING. My ‘net worth’, even having no life insurance, is GREATER if I am dead, rather than alive. Imprisonment for being a ‘refusnik’? No problem! Three hots and a cot. If I am executed? I get to be with Jesus! True-dolt and his band of malevolent WEF fascists have NOTHING on me!

Maranatha!

Oh, yes! WAY MORE SO, IMO!

At least you have some VERTIBRATES amongst your 'Congress Critters', a few of the States and a few amongst the media! You also have a WORKING CONSTITUTION! While under attack, it STILL forms the BACKBONE of the US! Our 'constitution' is INVERTIBRATE. One can count on it about as much as one can count on a nail 'hammered' into Jello!

True-dolt, aka Justin Castreau, waxxed admiringly, about the CCP dictatorship in communist China. To see what he/she/it (must be inclusive, doncha know!) said, please check this posting that I made very early this AM. He also praised Fidel Castro, in an official statement after his death. Here is the link

Since the CCP-coronavirus CONdemic started, True-dolt has assumed the role of dictator. Having bought off the Canadian MSM previously, they have been his lapdog for years. Since the COVID CONgame started, members of 'Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition' in the House of Commons, almost a ONE, have become invertebrates, TOTALLY lacking a spine, unable/unwilling to say a WORD about the dictatorial overreach demonstrated by the Justin Castreau government.

The latest attack on freedom is Bill C-11. A fellow FReeper posted it here. This bill can censor ANYONE posting a comment on the internet, that the gubmint disagrees with, and can BLOCK content that it disagrees with and prosecute PERSECUTE those who post. For example, I, a Canadian living in occupied Alberta, currently can post on FR. IF this legislation passes the Canadian Senate and becomes law, I can be prosecuted for THIS post. In addition, FR can be blocked in Canaduh!

Authoritarian leaders of countries, see what other authoritarian leaders get away with, and mimic those things. Just look at how long Tamara Lich was held without bail, on charges of 'mischief' in organizing the 'Freedom Convoy'! True-dolt saw what the Dhimmicrats were able to get away with regarding January 6th, and followed suit. I've seen the Dhimmicrats copting the 'playbook' of True-dolt on several occasions. True-dolt is now copying the 'playbook' of Mark Rutte

I'm sure that PRC (People's Republic of China) will examine this bill, C-11, to see where they can adjust their laws to be more controlling. It is with reason that I call Canaduh 'PRC (Politically Repressive Canada)'.

Canaduh is now a failed state.
ALBERTA OUT OF CANADUH! CANADUH OUT OF ALBERTA!
TUCK FRUDEAU!

This is probably the reason Alberta is always toying with secession and wanting to become our 51st. state.

I arrived in Canada today for a visit to one of the Gulf Islands in BC. At the Vancouver airport it was 100% masking due to “requirements” but not a single person on the ferry ride over or anyone else I saw today in Canada (stores, restaurants) outside of the airport was masked! This tells me no one wants to voluntarily mask in BC (unlike CA where lots currently still mask by choice). Clearly Canada should drop the airport masking nonsense. There is nothing magical about an airport and if anything there is plenty of distancing there.

Gulf Islands are beautiful and I like to be secretive about where I live I can say I live close to the Gulf Islands.

Medical clinics and dentists force us to wear masks also.
