Twelve people were shot over eight hours in Chicago late Tuesday and early Wednesday, including a 15-year-old girl killed inside her home, a 15-year-old boy shot on the South Side and a 16-year-old girl wounded on the West Side.
The shootings occurred across the city, from the Kelvin Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side to South Deering on the Far South Side.
At least four of the attacks were on the West Side, where there has been a spate of shootings in recent days.
The girl who was killed was shot in Marquette Park on the Southwest Side, an area that has seen a 13% increase in shootings from a year ago.
She was shot in the head on the third floor of a home in the 2400 block of West Marquette Road just before 7 p.m. and pronounced dead at Comer Children’s Hospital, police said.
She has not been identified. Police said they were questioning a person of interest and have released no other details.
Several hours later, a 15-year-old boy was wounded by gunfire in Englewood on the South Side.
The teen was outside in the 6100 block of South Bishop Street when someone fired shots about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said. He was hit in the leg and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition.

President Trump went into considerable detail yesterday on how he would put an end to this carnage were he elected in 2024. Very considerable detail. The issue of law and order took up much of his speech. I think he’s got his finger on the pulse of the vast majority of Americans who are sick and disgusted by all this violent crime. And very fearful.
No arrests, no trials, no covictions, no imprisonments for all these felonies. Wonder how many of the killed turn out to be murderers themselves. Revenge is the only sort of justice the aggrieved seem to have in these Democrat run urban areas.

I am opposed to GOP candidates thinking they can "fix" problems created in democrat cities, implementing democrat policies, chosen by democrat voters.
My answer is always, more federalism, more local power. First of all, neuter the DOJ, who, as America's KGB, enforces all progressive dictates from above via lawfare. Eliminate Federal programs on policing and any links of aid to policies. Let communities police themselves and take responsibility for themselves - with much wider latitude for action.
Chicago should be running like on peeples.

Hardly. Obama and Holder's goal was to control America's 3000+ local police forces - with DOJ lawfare and regulations. Fed.gov money and equipment. They and the FBI, DEA, ATF are hovering above or directly implanted in nearly every local police force. I know they are involved in ours.
There was a fight and multiple stabbing, and some subsequent spoken threats of guns at one of our local city high schools. Local teen/urban thug stuff.
The local police showed up, and so did the FBI. It was the FBI who spoke to the press. What did an incident at a local high school have to do with the FBI?

Put a wall up around Chicago. Drop in crates of handguns and plenty of ammo, announce a “purge” like weekend and tell the thugs to go nuts. Last one standing gets a recording coming with Death Row Records.
