Liz Truss urged Dominic Cummings to scrap hundreds of 'woke' civil service roles in an attack on Whitehall 'groupthink', a leaked document has revealed.
As international trade secretary in 2020, Miss Truss's office called for the abolition of diversity and inclusion roles in the civil service.
Her office reportedly signed off the document to Mr Cummings, who was then Boris Johnson's most senior adviser, criticising the 'risk-averse' Whitehall for its liberal 'groupthink'.
And she lambasted the difficulty of firing poorly-performing officials, according to the Telegraph.
A source close to Miss Truss told the paper the document represented how she would seek to govern if she beats Rishi Sunak to become Tory leader.
'As prime minister, Liz will not be captured by the Whitehall and Treasury orthodoxy,' the source said.
'She'll push ahead with tough reforms and get things through the labyrinthine Whitehall system.
'She's absolutely the person who will get things done and challenge Civil Service groupthink.'...

I’ve heard it before so many times from Tory politicians like Priti Patel and Liz Truss. They talk a good game but they don’t deliver the goods.
Still, I suppose it is marginally better than a politician who just outright embraces the radical left wokey nonsense and implements it with enthusiasm and zeal rather than slowly with a resigned air of defeat and indifference. We’re still going to hell in a handcart, but Truss won’t be greasing the wheels like Sunak or Labour would be.
