No faith in Russia, Germany scrambles for energy
MSM-BBC ^ | JULY 20TH

Germany's leading energy expert says she's living in a nightmare. What's worse, she saw it coming.

Germany had vowed to ditch coal but is now restarting mothballed, coal-fired power stations

For 15 years Claudia Kemfert says she tried to warn politicians and the public that the country was too reliant on Russian energy.

Until recently Germany bought more than half of its gas from Russia. She advised Berlin to find other sources and focus more on renewables. And she warned against the construction of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline through which Germany receives much of its gas.

"That's what I did over the last 15 years, repeating and repeating and repeating. Hoping that what's happened now would never happen," she says, her frustration evident.

Vladimir Putin's decision to, in effect, weaponise Russian gas exports has sent Germany into a tailspin. Moscow has blamed essential maintenance on the Nord Stream pipeline for a recent reduction, then complete shut-off, of supply.

Few in Berlin are buying that. Even fewer believe Russia can be trusted to deliver what Germany needs for the coming winter.

On Wednesday the European Commission urged the EU's 27 member states to cut their gas use by 15% until March

Germany's coalition government is scrambling to secure alternative energy supplies.

It is planning a number of floating terminals for the reception of liquified natural gas (LNG). It is trying to secure supplies from other countries, including Qatar.

Images of German Economy Minister and Green politician Robert Habeck going cap in hand to the Middle East for fossil fuels were greeted with derision by some at home.

Everything the “experts” promised us hasn’t happened. (But everything the lunatic “conspiracy theorists” warned us about has).Sacrifice her into a Volcano. Maybe that will help, couldn’t hurt.

BINGO

Getting rid of base load electrical coal fired plants (as well as nuclear) was so stupid it beggars belief.

By “stupid” I mean in the macro sense. If these people were merely incompetent, by the law of averages they would make mistakes now and then that worked in our favor. I suppose “wicked” might work.

None of this scheisse had to happen. Completely self-inflicted. Never seen anything like it.

HAHAHA. Germany built the largest machines, ever, to mine their massive coal deposites being sold to China. BUT HEY. At least Germany won’t be burning it.... After living there and experiencing the arrogance of the West Germans they deserve their cold winters and miserable summers. The East Germans I met, not so much. Many my age still recall the marxist rule they suffered under and dispise what Merkel has done to them with the imported violent muslims deficating on their land.

Double BINGO!

And the upper echelon of the perpetrators got rich beyond belief.

Maybe Schwab should stay the hell home and help Germany with its troubles, instead of trying to DESTROY THE WORLD WITH WEF CRAP.

Uh, I think you forgot being conned by the ENVIRONMENTALISTS

More precisely, note that a lot of those "environmentalists" were actually being quietly financed by Russia, which - after Germany got rid of its relatively-clean nuclear power - would be the main beneficiary, since Germany would then be totally dependent on its gas ... and look how Russia has tried to exploit that dependency, just like any drug pusher

Germany got played by Russia, and now needs to get rid of their dependency on this monster

I agree 100%. Russia used the German Environmentalists to do the ground work. They are Useful Idiots.

During the early ‘80’s, I worked for a conservative Think Tank and we invited Yuri Bezmenov, the KGB defector to stay with us for three weeks. He was very educational and opened our eyes to Communist tactics, methods, etc.

Regards-
