'Corrupted to their very core': Whistleblowers say DOJ, FBI show political bias in investigations

"If these allegations are true and accurate, the Justice Department and FBI are – and have been – institutionally corrupted to their very core," Grassley wrote

Astring of whistleblowers within the FBI allege that the bureau and the Department of Justice have selectively observed federal guidelines, launching investigations into conservative-aligned figures without sufficient basis to do so.

In a Monday press release from Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley, the Iowa Republican highlighted whistleblower accusations that "Washington Field Office Assistant Special Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault disregarded agency guidelines requiring substantial factual predication to trigger investigations."

Grassley's office noted that Thibault played a pivotal role in opening an investigation into the Trump campaign using information from a "left-aligned organization" and that he whitewashed the source's biases to coax approval for an investigation from FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Moreover, the whistleblowers further allege that Thibault worked to falsely discredit legitimate evidence against Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden's son, related to his finances and business deals abroad.

Grassley wrote last week to Wray and Garland to address the allegations against Thibault, making bold pronouncements as to the state of the American justice system should they prove true.

"If these allegations are true and accurate, the Justice Department and FBI are – and have been – institutionally corrupted to their very core to the point in which the United States Congress and the American people will have no confidence in the equal application of the law," he wrote.

The Iowa Senator, in late May, wrote to Wray, Garland, and Inspector General Michael Horowitz to call their attention to politically charged social media posts Thibault made at the expense of Republicans.

“ and the American people will have no confidence in the equal application of the law,” he wrote.”

That ship sailed long ago, Chuck. But thanks for chiming in.

So the next time you see a headline about “Trump continues to lie about the 2020 election being stolen” you know that the headline itself is a lie. Even if you discount the illegal drop boxes, mass voting on “behalf” of nonsentient people in rest homes, odd “malfunctions’ in counting in several states at the same time, we now know that this creep at the FBI enabled the theft of the election by claiming Hunter’s laptop was “disinformation” and squirreling it away from further review. NO investigation of Hunter taking money from Communist China or Ukraine and then funneling 10 percent of it to Joe; no publicity right before the election - even with the voter fraud this would have defeated Biden. So we can thank the corrupt FBI for rampaging inflation, a recession, the invasion of Ukraine, an open border and all sorts of other wonderful things, thanks to their placing their senile apparatchik in the White House.

Exactly. FR years ago acknowledged that all the alphabet agencies had been weaponized against conservatives. It’s a stacked deck with no relief in sight. The Swamp/Deep State is insurmountable in its current iteration.

Looking back at Trump 1, you have to note one example of how things work in the S hole there. Sessions was talked into recusing himself from the Russia stuff by whom? The DOJ bureaucracy. Each organization has a layer of deep state vipers.

Over in Congress, whenever one of bums leaves, the staff just goes and gets hired by other like minded representatives or try to hitch onto the incoming guy under the guise of organizational continuity.

The only way that changes is an entire top to bottom clean out. Trump 2 planned on doing that, at least in the executive branch by removing at least 50K POS. That was partly why he was so dangerous. He wanted to upend the applecart but the cart now weighs too much especially when you consider the fellow traveler media.

The FBI is now their foot soldiers. The whole place needs to be redone.

The whole place needs to be redone.

You misspelled "undone"!! We need to DISMANTLE all these alphabet agencies...not "redo" them!

Make Congress and the Executive branches do their own dirty work, so We the People can vote out the POSs that refuse to follow OUR COMMANDS (we are the leaders of this country...they represent US...they do NOT "lead" us)!!

Over in Congress, whenever one of bums leaves, the staff just goes and gets hired by other like minded representatives or try to hitch onto the incoming guy under the guise of organizational continuity.

Which is why we need term limits for not just elected officials, but staff and government employees as well.

Without that, the swamp will continue to exist because they will just reshuffle the faces.

Where Wray is concerned ... if Trump had been declared the winner in the 2020 Presidential election ... Wray would have resigned or been fired. No question.

This has been obvious for a while. While I appreciate Sen. Grassley or anyone for addressing this, I have to ask: write a letter? They oughta be sleeping in the Capitol until there is equal justice.
