Report: At Least 181 K-12 Educators Arrested on Child-Related Sex Crimes in First Half of 2022

Fox News Digital analysis of child sex crime data in school districts around the nation has found a minimum of 181 K-12 educators have been arrested on child-related sex crimes in the first half of 2022.

Among those educators arrested were four principals, 153 teachers, 12 substitute teachers, and 12 teachers’ aides. The crimes ranged from child pornography to rape of students.

“Arrests that weren’t publicized were not counted in the analysis, meaning the true number may well be higher,” Fox News Digital reported.

According to the analysis, at least 77 percent, or 140 of the arrests, constituted alleged crimes against students.

In 2015, Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) proposed a provision in the latest iteration of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) that required all states that receive federal education funds to pass a law banning the practice of “passing the trash,” or quietly allowing a suspected child sex abuser to leave one school district for another.

A report released in June by the U.S. Education Department and titled “Study of State Policies to Prohibit Aiding and Abetting Sexual Misconduct in Schools,” found state laws against such “aiding and abetting” vary across the nation.

According to the education department’s report, all states require criminal background checks on educators and 46 states require fingerprinting of prospective employees.

The report continues that 27 states require prospective employers to check the applicant’s employment history and/or disciplinary status, ***

Is there no way to weed these perverts out proactively?

Psychological profiles maybe?

Only 181? Isn’t sexual grooming, aka unlawful contact or communication with a minor, a crime?

Kamala Harris believes educators should be ‘able to love openly’.

I am a retired high school teacher and I agree with you. I taught high school for 16 years and saw cases I suspected every year. We had two or three teachers that just "went away" in mid cycle. Always for health reasons.

I would like to see the number compared to a long term comparison, say 5 or 10 years. I think the problem was more prevalent than we were told just hushed up by the school districts.

“...the true number may well be higher...”

I’d bet $5 that it’s WAY HIGHER.

Had a friend who was a coach in high school. He said a female teacher there got caught in her car having sex with one of her students (female also). She was told to just disappear, which she did. This didn’t make any news outside of the institution. So I can surmise that this number reported is quite off the mark.

I don’t think anyone in that industry cares or they are involved. The public school teaching profession has been turned upside down.

Yeah there is.

3. You figure out the rest.

The other side of this coin is that people are leaving the teaching profession because they are afraid of being accused of "grooming" for things that used to be normal teacher-student interactions, which causes a teacher shortage:
"[AFT President] Weingarten said teachers face “constant hectoring, being called pedophiles, being called groomers, wondering whether whatever they said, whether they were going to be pulled into a principal’s office if they answered a kid’s question.”"
Teacher shortage is currently ‘the worst I’ve ever seen,’ union president says

I can remember having female teachers who won't give the boys in their 2nd or 3rd grade classes their final report cards unless we gave the teacher a kiss. In my family, we wrote to our former teachers, and went to their homes on Haloween. One teacher would call his former students on their birthdays. Grooming? No, these teachers truly loved their students. Kids today are missing out on something, and a broader sense of community.

There are a few moving parts at work here. One is the homosexual agenda. It used to be that homosexuals were barred from teaching because it was feared that they would abuse kids. That's no longer P.C.

The other part is the contempt for traditional family values, and corresponding decoupling of sex from marriage and procreation. Years ago, if a 25 year old teacher later married a 18 year old former student, people may have gossiped, but no one would lose a teaching license, let alone get prosecuted. Newt Gingrich married his former high school math teacher. Was he damaged for life from that? Today, if a kid wants to have sex with the entire football team, or another student of the same sex, it's perfectly legal and acceptable socially. However, if a student wants to simply stay in touch with a teacher as a mentor, that's now alleged to be "grooming". The country has gotten quite strange from the days of my youth.
