I dont care one way or the other if one has taken the shots or not but I do care that the re are quite a few people here who stir the pt by bragging about how many shots they’ve had with no ill effects and are going on cruises, blah, blah. Others mock and attack those who are skeptical about the vaccine and the governments’ handling of the oversight and implementation of them. And these people are relentless—always posting the same mockery. Frankly, I have a fair amount of experience personally and professionally with the health care field and the govt agencies that oversee vaccines and the way things were handled was highly unusual, unprecedented and likely not ethical or legal. That’s enough, even without medical data to be concerned about what has happened. I’m not sure your claimed concern for people’s level of “fear” (your word). Most would consider it healthy abd necessary skepticism.
One could say the same about your concern about others “concern”. Very curious behavior. Are you trying to be the forum therapist?
I’ve never mocked or attacked anyone who chose to forego the vaccine. On the other hand, I’ve often been mocked and attacked here.
I’ve just honestly stated my own decisions and experiences.
(My belief that fear of any kind is destructive actually comes in large part from my Christian background. There are numerous verses in the Bible which instruct us to have no fear. I think they are wise instructions - for people who have taken the vaccine, AND for those who have not.)
I wasn’t implying that you said anything derisive about those skeptical about the vaccination, but many others have. So, it is a 2 sided issue. I appreciate your view on fear but I don’t consider concern about something this important simply as “fear”. It needs to be thoroughly investigated and reviewed. That’s not fear to me, its just be smart.
Err...I’m going for my cancer screenings next month. Yeah..I’m proactive and I have reason for concern as do my doctors.
Mandates to vax or lose your job are worse. You caved like a bad hand in poker. People like you are pathetic. It’s just fear killing millions. Yeah. Idiot. Jo join a knitting club but leave big decisions to the capable. Pathetic fool. Keep trying to deflect you run to big gov mandates, lies, idiocy…. Freedom isn’t your cause so change your name to “on my knees 2020-2021”.
Too many have fallen for the misinformation put out by hucksters who wanted to sell their untested snake oil like ivermectin and HCQ. These grifters use the same playbook as Andrew Wakefield and Judy Mikovits. Now that so many have jumped on board the antivaxxer bus , have you found any of them who have a strategy for stopping the COVID virus?
Ivermectin and hydroxychloriquine are snake oil? Talk about falling for misinformation from hucksters.
I am no expert in the RNA nature of the poliovirus and its ability to mutate and avoid the efforts of a vaccine. A mutated virus that was able to resist the vaccine protection was found in victims of an outbreak in the Congo in 2010. Only through a massive vaccination effort with a new vaccine was that mutation fully eliminated. The new pathogen was a warning by scientists: “We can’t afford to sit back and do nothing” when a new pathogen appears.
Of polio? The polio virus rarely if ever mutates. The Sars viruses are like flu viruses in thsts they mutate many times and fairly quickly and can jump to animals which polio can’t. Because Sars like flu mutates having vaccines for them requires constant new formulas to address the latest mytatef outbreak. Like the flu which is about 40% effective a new Sars vaccine would be needed often
So far, the covid vaccine available was made for the first variant back in 2019/2020. That is the formula they are still using even though the virus has mutated numerous times. Not a very practical scenario and currently, in my opinion, a deceptive one by Pharma and our govt.
I got over Covid myself with the help of Ivermectin and Zithro, as did my boyfriend and his parents, who are both over 75, with comorbities, and unvaxxed.
If only he could get over the exhaustion caused by working over 65 hours a week because his vaxxed assistant is always out dealing with heart problems of her own, her husband, and her mother, all vaxxed, all never had heart problems before.
Her, not you, MN.
Except at least with the flu vaccine, it is based on some basic and test vaccine technology with years of follow up data.
(Not that I advocate getting a flu vaccine. I don’t. I don’t trust any of it anymore, but arguments can certainly be made for certain vaccines being better bets than others.)
Agree.
I’m shocked that Americans don’t believe a word these government officials say.
You come across like a member of the radical leftist cancel-culture.
There’s a big difference between intelligent concern that leads to sensible precaution, and falling for the pandemic FEAR that many have fallen for and that others have apparently been trying to promote, usually for political purposes.
My initial post in the thread had to do with fear itself and the destructiveness of it. That’s all. But many of the people here took offense simply because I stated that I’d been vaccinated. I’ve apparently become the scapegoat of some peoples’ frustrations and resentments - as if my personal choice somehow mandates THEIRS.
That’s emotional, illogical and, frankly, idiotic.

GETTING COVID, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT:

GrampaDave: My 82 year old spouse and I at 84 years had a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner with a relative, who in spite of having every anti Covid 19 injection, passed his latest version of Covid to us.
I had the first crud with minimal fever if any, in 3 to 4 days and my spouse 5-6 days.
We had no real fever and felt like we hand been ran over by several Amazon delivery vans.
I developed a limp where I had previously successful surgeries on my left foot and knee, years ago.. I bought a cane and was using it to go outside to get the mail. A doctor friend/neighbor was returning from a shift at the local hospital as the on call radiologist asked if my foot was red on the top side by the bigger toes and the bottom side. I replied yes, and he said that was probably gout due to getting the latest Covid version. He said to continue using the cane and topical non RX NSAID gel until I felt better. I did and the gout/redness went away in 5 days.
My wife, who is also recovering from a hip replacement had severe back problems along her lower ribs and her new and old hip lines. Apparently, that is also often after a post Covid 19 visit. Her clinic doctor order a scan and xrays and there were no new or serious issues.
She is much better now, and my cane is no longer needed.
I’m on Eliquis BID post stent and a baby aspirin each day, and my wife gets one baby aspirin a day. Those meds were being taken before, during and after the latest crud. No other meds besides the NSAID gel were taken/used.
