The future of the largest aviation joint venture between China and Russia is looking bleak because of intensifying disagreements between the two over how they share the profits and the possible involvement of Western companies.

The Russians are unhappy because China wants to invite Western companies to take part in the US$50 billion project to develop a new passenger jet, known as the CR-929, according to two independent sources.

US companies would be dumb to work on C929.

C919:

“According to a report from cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike and a US Justice Department indictment, from 2010 to 2015 the Chinese cyberthreat actor Turbine Panda, linked to the Ministry of State Security’s Jiangsu Bureau, penetrated a number of the C919’s foreign components manufacturers including Ametek, Capstone Turbine, GE Aviation, Honeywell, Safran, and others and stole intellectual property and industrial processes data with the aim of transitioning component manufacturing to Chinese companies. The report stated that the operations involved both cyber intrusion and theft as well as HUMINT operations, in most cases using a piece of code custom written for this industrial espionage operation.

As of 2019, four people have been arrested in the US as a result of investigations into this economic espionage and theft of trade secrets.”

I worked in Aviation for many years. The company I worked for created a site in Bangalore. Yep, development work shifted over there.

“The Russians are unhappy because China wants to invite Western companies to take part in the US$50 billion project to develop a new passenger jet, . . .”

Well, if American companies don’t participate, who will the Chinese steal the IP from?

Lol, I got news for the Chinese and the Russians. There’s not a Chinaman’s chance in hell that I, or millions like me around the world, will voluntarily board an aircraft built by the Chinese and the Russians.

China’s big dam is about to break. The concrete in most of their high rise buildings is like powder which eventually cause the buildings to collapse. Airplane..???......NO !!!!

If cracks didn’t appear in russia & the CCP’s partnership, they sure as heck would appear in the engine turbine fan blades and airframe, sooner rather than later
