If he does this, we know he is someone we can trust. This is the very least we should be doing. Meanwhile Gov. Abbot hasn’t militarized the border of that overrated, cuckolded state of Texas.

This is the Chinese way of conquering a land. If anything should happen where the United States put a stopped or confiscate their bought land they will immediately declare war on us because they’ll Consider it their property. This would mimic something like if Russia was to invade Alaska and say that Alaska is their property.

So the people saying he has no foreign policy experience were lying. See also his work with Israel and the international port problems.

...Also the people saying that are using the SAME tactic that liberals used on Gov Sarah Palin re: her Russia comment. Remember that the next time you see it.

Why are we selling anything to them to begin with? Huge mistake. But good for DeSantis.

It’s pretty much a given that all land in a State belongs to that sovereign State. The land may be deeded to individuals, corporations, or perhaps the federal government, but ultimately, it is the State’s land. So the Chines can go pound sand.

Many countries limit foreign ownership of land...this seems obvious as they do not want their citizens becoming renters of their own land.

Kind of odd, it’s like so many people say “(My country) first!”

Where have we heard that before?

Here’s an article about the subject, this one from Thailand:

https://thairesidential.com/is-thailand-alone-how-many-countries-in-the-world-prohibit-foreign-ownership-of-land/

We cannot be so wed to the idea of free markets that there are no rules at all. Someone has to set the rules for a nation whether it is a congress, parliament, king, etc.

I used to be a hard-core libertarian, then realized there is a reason there has never existed a libertarian country in history. The possibility of foreign ownership and domination of a such a country is one of the big reasons.

40 years ago, we worried about Japan buying everything. They bought it all at PEAK, sold to them by some smart US Real Estate sharks.
They lost their asses in the downturn and dumped lots of it back at the bottom.

Bigger issue is the ChiComs controlling basic industries, universities and politicians.

How much of this is nefarious? And how much is individual Chinese just looking for a safe haven before the next inevitable upheaval?

Should also ban people moving to Florida. Florida is being cut and cleared daily. Nothing will be left of a once beautiful state.

1. They can’t take it home
2. Using zoning and environmental laws we can make their property is worthless

So the CCP which doesn’t believe in private property for its subjects is buying private property. Clearly demonstrating their knowledge of the advantages of a free society they strongly prevent their own ‘subjects’ or serfs from participating in.

China holds massive amounts of U.S. debt. They’re just exchanging worthless dollars for tangible assets.
Looks like the joke is on us.

Same thing is happening in NYC. When you have a property for sale in Queens, ONLY Chinese show up to look at it. From time to time, Chinese would knock on neighbors’ doors and ask if they know of any homes for sale, just like that. They were taking over entire neighborhoods in Queens and starting on Brooklyn when I left NYC a couple years ago. It was sort of “strange” to see people who dressed like people who were not well off offering to pay cash for what they bought, with bags of greenbacks or checks. I heard that the Chinese churches were money laundering CCP money and then distributing it to not well off Chinese to enable them to buy properties.

China knows it’s American dollars will soon be worthless so they are exchanging them for hard assets.

It is the same in North Dakota with the Chinese and Bill Gates purchasing huge plots of land.
