MOSCOW, July 22. /TASS/. Agreements on establishment of a corridor for export of Ukrainian grain and withdrawal of restrictions on export of Russian food and fertilizer have been signed in Istanbul on Friday.

A memorandum signed by Russia and the UN states that the global organization will join the work on withdrawal of anti-Russian sanctions obstructing export of agricultural products and fertilizer.

The agreement on export of Ukrainian grain provides for safe corridors from three ports: Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny. Ukrainian territorial waters will not be demined, and Ukraine will ensure passage of ships to international waters; however, the export of grain will be supervised by the Joint coordination center in Turkey, which will include representatives of all four sides.

I’m surprised Washington is allowing these negotiations. Did the UN somehow override DC?

Russia never honors their agreements. They bomb humanitarian corridors, there’s no reason to trust Russia on this.

Yup, IMO they are angling for a casus belli of “Russia is weaponizing food, causing massive price increases and killing millions!”

If the Ukrainian ports open for food shipment expect attacks upon them... not carried out by Russia, just blamed on Russia. When the Ukrainian ports are disabled look for them to overland food to Constanta, then Constanta will be lined up for a false flag and that will be the casus belli.

If all else fails then expect a dirty device...u know where... they are making PSA’s for it.

God save us from the neocons, both republican and democrat..

there’s no reason to trust Russia on this.

Given that bombing the ships carrying grain would tick off the African nations who have been neutral to supportive of Russia thus far, it would be irrational for Russia to put on a big show of signing these agreements only to then destroy the grain shipments.

🇪🇺🇬🇧🌾 How the food crisis is forcing the EU to adjust its sanctions regime

In adopting the seventh package of sanctions against Russia, the EU was forced to find a compromise in the field of operations with agricultural products and fertilizers. The move came amid criticism from African leaders who expressed dissatisfaction with the negative impact of sanctions on food security.

EU sanctions significantly affect the food balance of most African countries, whose dependence on Russian and Ukrainian grain ranges from 40 to 100% depending on the region.

▪️The official opinion states that transactions with certain state-owned companies will be allowed to carry out actions with food and fertilizers. The EU may have to unfreeze previously blocked funds belonging to the largest Russian banks VTB, Sovcombank, VEB, etc. Separately, in accordance with the new sanctions, the assets of Sberbank will be frozen, with the exception of funds needed for food trade.

Russian bank money may be released after it is determined that these funds or economic resources are needed to purchase, import or transport agricultural and food products, including wheat and fertilizers.

▪️Fresh satellite imagery indicates that the largest grain producers - the United States, Canada, India, Argentina and Ukraine - will have lower crops this year due to changing weather conditions. A rather stable situation remains on the territory of Russia and parts of the regions of China.

▪️The EU has so far denied that its sanctions have affected the food trade. But given the fact that famine, according to UN estimates, could threaten 1 billion people , the position of the union looks very short-sighted.

🔺For now, the EU is trying to save face with vague language. Changes in sanctions may partially mitigate the consequences of the impending food crisis, but European experts do not fully understand the scale of the threat. #EU

I wonder if this is just a coincidence!!

Lithuania has lifted a ban on the rail transport of sanctioned goods in and out of the Russian area of Kaliningrad.

Not a coincidence...more like a negotiation.

🇺🇲🇷🇺🇺🇦 The US is preparing for a compromise?

Today, Russia has given guarantees that it will not attack Odessa from the sea for 120 days, so that Ukraine can sell its grain and other goods by sea.

And here is the news that appeared immediately after that:

- The United States did not transfer aircraft to Ukraine, but only helps with spare parts for existing aviation - Pentagon

- The United States does not intend to provide Ukraine with ATACMS missiles (range up to 300 km), Biden’s national security aide said.

- Possible supply of US fighter jets to Ukraine is not considered in the near future - White House

— The United States and allies need Russian oil supplies to world markets, otherwise prices for it will rise again

— Lithuania resumed transit between Russia and the Kaliningrad region

“US Nat Sec advisor Jake Sullivan: We are not prepared to provide Ukraine with long-range missiles, ATACMS with a range of 300 km. Our key goal is to support and defend Ukraine, and another key goal is to ensure that we’re not heading down the road toward a 3rd World war”
