Banks, who serves as chair of the Republican Study Committee (RSC), which is the largest congressional caucus, said the group visited Trump at his New Jersey residence last year and that it has another visit now slated for early August.
“RSC has visited with him many times before. We have a very close relationship with him, and the Republican Study Committee believes he’s the most effective president in a lifetime or more,” Banks said.
The Indiana Republican gave his remarks in an interview just a couple hours after he and dozens of members of the RSC met with former Vice President Mike Pence, a fellow Hoosier and former RSC chair.
Pence, who has been active in campaigning for candidates and attending speaking engagements since departing office, has been floated as a possible 2024 presidential contender who could potentially face Trump, his former boss, in a primary race.
The RSC, which Banks described as the “heart and soul of the Republican Conference,” has been a meeting grounds for several possible 2024 candidates, including Sens. Tom Cotton (R-AR), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Josh Hawley (R-MO), Rick Scott (R-FL), former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, and, most recently, Pence.
Pence’s meeting on Wednesday focused on his 28-page “leading America with freedom” agenda, though a Pence adviser told Breitbart News the former vice president is zeroed in on the 2022 midterms rather than 2024. Not delivering in the 2022 midterm elections could “dampen” Republican prospects in 2024, the adviser noted.

Why not? He was there every step of the way and while you probably don’t like him because he didn’t do an extra-constitutional thing, he always supported and deferred to President Trump.

It is a beautiful course in a very nice area. I actually was at his club as a guest just after he was elected and he waved to my kids.

He didn’t do anything he wasn’t told to do. If it had been more he would have run for president a long time ago but he didn’t have what it took then and he doesn’t have what it takes now.
Oh, and BTW the reason I intensely dislike Pence doesn’t have anything to do with what he did or did not do about the vote. It’s because that disgusting, weak little man couldn’t condemn Trump supporters fast enough. Instead of saying he knows those supporters and they are absolutely not violent and the FEW troublemakers were the problem.
He betrayed half the country by not bothering to stand up for the people. A coward like that can NEVER lead this country.

Pence is a country club RINO, make no mistake about that. His primary role as VP was to ,ollify the RINO faction of the Republican party, who see Trump as an uncouth lout with mere pretentions of grandure. Whe President Trump got the job done despiote them, they became enraged. They are still enraged.
President Trunmp is one of the greatest presidents our nation has ever elected to office. He represents the People, and makes the vested interest and loggyist take a back seat of the bus. That puts “paid and done with,” to the lucre many RINOs continually harvest for their districts and relatives who live there. Mitch McConnell is a prime example, with the vast fortune he and his Chinese wife have harvested from doing business with Red China.
In any event Pence is not presidential material for these times we are in of culture wars dmoestically and war on the international stage. Mike Pompeo would be better than Pence.
If President Trump does not offer himself as a candidate for 2024, it wiould be a very great loss to our country.He is likely the only one who can undo the tremendous damage executed on America by Biden and his radical Marxist Democrats.
