Putin faces second war front as Chechens threaten new offensive in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin could be facing another war front, this time on his own turf, as one Chechen battalion prepares a second offensive against Moscow, a spokesman for the volunteer fighting force in Ukraine said.

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February, volunteer Chechen forces joined the fight in support of Kyiv — fueling the flames to a long-held animus towards not only Russia, but Putin.

"We know the enemy’s positions, where Russian military bases are," Islam Belokiev, spokesman for the Sheikh Mansur Battalion, said in a video message obtained by Fox News Digital this week with the help of Ukraine Frontline Media Platform.

"We have divided the Chechen Republic of Icheriya into three fronts and 16 sectors," he added while announcing a plan to once again fight for Chechen independence. ... and claimed to have begun working with local populations "to uncover the enemy troop movements, type of transport, type of armaments, number of troops and quantity of weapons."

Fox News could not independently verify the claims, but Rebekah Koffler, a Russia expert and former intelligence officer in Russian doctrine and strategy for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), said it could serve as a strategy to distract Putin’s war effort in Ukraine.

"The possibility of them taking advantage of Putin’s forces being tied up in Ukraine to assert their independence is very plausible," she explained.

It is unclear if the Chechen volunteer forces are strategizing with Kyiv by creating a second front, but Koffler noted that even if a second front is not fully launched in Chechnya, it could still strain Putin’s forces.

It would "at least make Putin and the Russians believe that they will have to divert their attention and take eyes off Ukraine, so Ukrainians could launch a counter-offensive," she said. "That’s very clever."

The longer Russia's war in Ukraine continues, the more Putin will face political, or even military unrest at home. Putin will be remembered in history as an Anti-Christ who did nothing but unleash war, death and destruction in his sphere of influence. His people are growing tired of him.

No idea if this is just bluster, or reality. But if Chechnya blows up again, that would be a devastating blow to Putin’s campaign in Ukraine.

a devastating blow to Putin’s campaign in Ukraine.

Yea, the walls are closing in on Putin. If only we could supply Ukraine with a few more tens of billions.

RE: “....spokesman for the volunteer fighting force in Ukraine said.”

Can we get another source for this information other than from an Ukrainian spokesman?

There were some pro-Russian Chechens, but many others still hate their guts.

Putin will be remembered in history as an Anti-Christ who did nothing but unleash war, death and destruction in his sphere of influence. His people are growing tired of him.

Turning this conflict into a holy war is neither prudent nor true. Russia’s surgical operation to assist the independent Republics of Luhansk and Donetsk (and Crimea) is strategic. Revolutions have consequences. Overthrowing democracies results in disenfranchisement and secession. Obama/Biden lit this fire in 2014…

Don’t forget Chechnya. We must also send tens of billions of dollars to Chechnya as well.

Oops! Maybe I spoke too soon. Does Hunter Biden get bribe money from Chechnya? If not, please disregard my post.

These are the CIA created and funded Islamist spin-offs that hate Russia. That’s their purpose: to hate Russia and kill Russians FOR Washington. They’re the same product that’s occupying eastern Syria. They were rolled up in Syria and Chechnya but never underestimate the Deep state in regrouping to foment war and misery.

The Chechens fought the Russians for more than a decade, so there was plenty of genuine animosity, and not just the CIA stirring that up.

The CIA did not make the Chechens hate Russia. Putin did that all by himself with the Chechen wars. It's more likely that Bush, Jr. withheld support for the Chechens in exchange for Putin not causing problems for the U.S. in the Middle East. That's not to say that the CIA wasn't interested in the Chechens. I know for a fact that the CIA was very interested in interviewing the Chechen refugees in Europe.

The Chechen hatred for Russia goes much farther back the Putin. The original ‘hatred’; source it to the fact that its Islam vs Christianity, the original Czarist conquest, several rebellions against the Czars, Lenin betrayed their independence impulses, Stalin massacred them by the 100s of thousands & deported many to elsewhere in Russia. Then add in the fact they’re at best 3rd class citizens even in the best of times. Putin in their eyes is just another Christian oppressor.

The CIA front group for the Chechen cause is the “American Committee for Peace in Chechnya (ACPC)” And check out the “distinguished” (raging neocon) Americans who are its members: Richard Perle; Elliott Abrams; Kenneth Adelman; Midge Decter; Frank Gaffney; Bruce Jackson; Michael Ledeen and R James Woolsey, the former CIA director. These, and many others in the shadows, are the eternal foaming-at-the-mouth Russophobes ultimately behind the Chechen wars and the Beslan terror attack. Provinces, states and regions, no mater what the country, have their differences with federal central governments-that’s normal. The special talent of neocons is to create insurgencies and death from that.

Georgia too!

Putin stole territory from Georgia in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Arm the fifth columns there, to kill the occupiers while they sleep.

Free Chechnya! Free Georgia! Free Crimea!

The time for revenge is at hand.
