How's everyone doing this morning?
THAT BIRCH CAME DOWN OVER 20 YEARS AGO. HAD GOOD CHAINSAWS THEN, HAVE GOOD ONES NOW (IF YOU HAVE JUST ONE IT’LL QUIT ON YA. IF YOU HAVE AT LEAST TWO, THEY NEVER WILL. JUST ONE OF THE LAWS OF NATURE). I WENT FOR THE AXE ‘CAUSE I HAD NEVER CUT A TREE DOWN WITH ONE. HAD TO SEE WHAT IT WAS LIKE. IT’S TERRIBLE. A SANE MAN WOULD HAVE USED THE SAW ON THE 2ND TRUNK, BUT I HAD STARTED WITH THE AXE, AND SANE IS NOT MY LONG SUIT. LAST WEEK’S OAK IS 30-40 YARDS FROM THE HOUSE, AND STILL SPLINTER ATTACHED AT THE BREAK. NOTHING I WANT TO DEAL WITH BEYOND, “HOW MUCH WILL THAT BE?”
FIREFLIES. LOVE ‘EM. I REMEMBER CATCHING THEM AS A KID AND PUTTING THEM IN A GLASS JAR. NONE OF US KNEW WHAT WE WERE DOING TO THEM. JUST KIDS. FIREFLIES AND CRICKETS WERE THE SIGHT AND SOUND OF SUMMER. STILL ARE.
I’VE GOTTA GO BED DOWN. I’LL SEND YOU STICK FIGURE DRAWINGS ON HOW TO DO THE NAVAJO RAIN DANCE. I’D HAVE A LOT MORE FAITH IN IT IF THEY DIDN’T LIVE IN THE DESERT.
BE WELL.
To spend the money you do on water bills, you MUST love your yard. Hubby would love to cover our yards with concrete so he wouldn’t have to mow. LOL
But I understand. Once you’ve lived surrounded by greenery, desert tan can be depressing. I know I couldn’t live in the desert, even though it does have its own beauty.
I wish this front would move faster. When they creep across the state, they expend their energy before they reach us and we get little to nothing.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
I hope you and Gizmo head out really early this morning for your outing. I see you’re under and excessive heat warning over there. Not gonna be a fun day to be out and about.
I spent much of the weekend trying out some new channels on the music website Radio Tunes. They have all sorts of channels like Smooth Jazz 24/7, Disco Party, Contemporary Christian, Vocal Smooth Jazz, Love Music and others. It's 7 bucks a month for unlimited access to all channels. I liked some of the channels so much I ended up liking and bookmarking them. Really good stuff.
We did got to the lake yesterday because of a Heat Advisory. As of righ5t now, no Heat Advisory but we have and Excessive Heat Warning Tuesday.
Here are all the pics from yesterday's trip to the lake.
These pictures were from Saturday's visit to the lake.

We will see how things go today at the lake.
I wish it would move faster too. And I hope it leaves some rain for your part of the state.
Meanwhile, I’m soooo sleepy after the early morning. Can barely keep my eyes open. See ya tomorrow. I hope you have good rain news then!
LOL! Gotta try it at least once, I reckon. You got that out of the way and lesson learned.
If one has trees, chain saws are good to have around. Hubby has three that I know of - different sizes - plus a pole saw. All have gotten a workout over the years. There are a lot of trees around the farm but there used to be a lot more. Two tornado hits and a lot of strong storms have changed the appearance of the place.
Darned oak tree. Just couldn’t break clean, could it? Broken that high up, you sure don’t need to deal with cutting that strip that’s hanging it up.
I imagine every kid growing up where fireflies are has captured them and put them in jars. I did many a time and would take them into the bedroom and turn off the light for a while to watch them. But I always let them go before I went to bed.
Mom wouldn’t let me capture crickets. She didn’t want them in the house. I kept the bedroom door closed so I could keep the windows open in order to listen to them and to the katydids, my favorite summer bug.
I guess I’ll pass on the Navaho rain dance. I’ve seen how Indians dance and I’m too old and stiff for that that kind of activity. LOL Just have to keep all appendages crossed for luck.
The NOAA site showed the warning from Sunday through Tuesday so be careful going out today. We don’t want you and Gizmo keeling over from the heat. It looks like it was pretty toasty over the weekend but Gizmo still managed to have some fun. Bet you both huddled in front of the AC when you got home! LOL
Still creeping and all we can do is hope. The front won’t move all the way across and if it stalls out too soon, we won’t get anything.
Get a good, long sleep. I just remembered I’m supposed to get up early to work at the Republican women’s tent tomorrow. It’s set up for early voting, as we always do. At least I don’t have to wake up as early as for the museum but I’m already later than I should have gone to bed. Oh well, at least I don’t have to be on my feet all day. I’ll survive. LOL
Catch ya tomorrow.
I have a new student...Guitar.
11 year old boy wants to Rock and Roll! :-)
And who better to teach rockin’ and rollin’!!
