Trump was prevented from going to the Capitol by security forces (according to plotters) he was cut off from mass communications including Facebook, Twitter, and news networks. Two divisions worth of soldiers were flooded into DC on someone else’s orders. Milley said he was coordinating with Pelosi and was in secret contact with our biggest enemy China.

Given the high risk to the President's life the crazed Antifa posed, I'd say they made the right call. The assassination of the commander-in-chief while the Vice President was hiding from the mob would have thrown the country into chaos.
