Former President Donald Trump leads the 2024 Republican primary field by nearly 20 points in New Hampshire and Texas, according to a pair of polls.
A Neighborhood Research/Media NH poll shows Trump with a 19 point lead over his next closest competitor, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), among potential Republican primary voters who were asked to rank their top three choices for 2024. The 45th president garnered 41.1 percent of the response, while 22.1 percent said they would vote for DeSantis. Former Vice President Mike Pence came in third at 1.3 percent. Several other candidates, including Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Former ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo polled under one percent. Another 30.1 percent were undecided. Respondents were not provided options but were asked an open-ended question about their top three picks for the next Republican nominee.
A CWS/Defend Texas Liberty PAC poll, which sampled those who voted in the Lone Star State’s Republican primaries or runoffs earlier this year, documented a similar trend in Texas. Trump again enjoyed a 19 point lead over DeSantis, at 45 percent and 26 percent, respectively. Pence came in third place at six percent, while Haley and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) both garnered 5 percent of the response, placing them in fourth place right behind the former vice president. Four percent of poll participants placed their support behind Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX), and an additional nine percent were undecided.
These results from New Hampshire and Texas mirror a national pattern, as 53 percent of Americans would vote for Trump, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average for the 2024 Republican primary. DeSantis is more than 30 percentage points behind Trump but holds a strong lead over the rest of the field.

For many non-citizens who either cross the southern U.S. border illegally, or overstay a visa, giving birth to children is a natural next step in their family’s life. A baby who is born in the U.S. becomes a U.S. citizen automatically.
I’m a U.S. citizen. My daughter was born in England when I was stationed there. She had a dual citizenship (U.S. and British) until she was 18. When she was 18 she chose to be a U.S. citizen only - rejected the British citizenship.

The Deep State chewed Trump up and spit him out. By the end of his term, he'd handed control of the country over to Fauci and Brix where they destroyed his once juggernaut economy while Trump himself spent his waning days in office babbling about his "Platinum Plan" for a half a billion in reparations to blacks while mailing everyone Covid checks.

Of course, if Trump EARNS the nomination, I'll vote for him, just as I voted for Romney and McCain, but I don't expect he'll win.

My mistake.
Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother (maybe) and a Cuban father. So Cruz is not a Natural Born Citizen. Further more Cruz is really an illegal alien since his mother never filed the paper work (Consular Report of Birth Abroad) to make Cruz an American citizen.
Cruz’s mother might have been a citizen of Canada when Ted was born. Which is why I put in the maybe above. If we had real journalists all of this would have come out the last time lying Ted ran.
NBC means born on US soil to US citizen parents. Back in the day, only the father’s citizenship mattered (wives acquired the citizenship of the men they married).
So our founders would have considered Cruz to be a Cuban.

I think I know my daughters’s history better than you. When she was 18 she rejected her British citizenship. In doing so, she chose her U.S. citizenship which was already established. I suggest you study U.S. - British dual citizenship agreements before becoming such a smart a_ _.!!!!!
So, you’re saying one can transition from having dual citizenship, after having been born overseas, to being a natural born Citizen?
That’s a neat trick.
I am saying that she was a U.S. and British citizen at birth. When she was 18 she renounced her British citizenship, and once she did that, she was only a U.S. citizen. We didn’t ask for British citizenship for her. It was automatically given.
Go back and read the interaction between George Washington and John Jay with regard to not permitting anyone with even a modicum of foreign sympathies to the Presidency.
Citizen, yes, natural born citizen eligible to be President, no.
Every illegal alien anchor baby and Chinese tourist baby is not eligible to be President.
They may mistakenly be given US citizenship, but they are not natural born citizens.
My daughter is a natural born citizen whose Mother and Father are both natural born citizens. The fact that she was born in England when I was in the service doesn’t change that.
The fact that she was born with more than ONE nationality makes her NOT a natural born citizen.
