You are part of a small group here at free Republic that are insanely and moronically desiring a war 5000 miles away overseas with a giant nuclear power while we suffer a communist totalitarian purge here in America

Yup.

BTW, 10% of Russia's population are Muslim fanatics.

And what percentage of American population are Muslim fanatics like Ilhan Omar?

Russians are not reproducing in any large numbers and they're literally drinking themselves to death.
Just give them another ten years and they're history.

Like Nikita Khrushchev said, Russia has been there long, long before America was ever created. They are not going to become “history: with a very weak, demented American "leader" like Dementia Joe, who's sanctions have ended up making Russia much richer than they were before.

I believe the lunatics currently in charge in America would start a nuclear war to cling to whatever power they could.

The threat of Democrats losing power in the coming election is making them crazier than ever.

Nobody could win a nuclear war. Millions would die quickly and they would be the lucky ones. Millions more would linger and die in misery from radiation sickness. There would be virtually no medical help around for any survivors.

Hopefully this was just some kind of accident or malfunction of the drone. But, because Russia is now aware that the U.S. has brought American soldiers into Ukraine to operate some of the weapons we have sent them (HIMARs, etc.) which obviously was an escalation this is something to keep an eye on...

In my recent blog post “Playing With Fire”, I speculated Russia might retaliate for US “boots on the ground” in Ukraine by striking US drones in Polish and/or Romanian airspace.

Playing With Fire

Over the course of the past several weeks we have learned the following:

· US intelligence operatives and special forces have been deployed in Ukraine throughout the ongoing war.

· These US troops are directly involved in attacking Russian targets.

· US-provided intelligence of various types, combined with US “hands-on” training and (almost certainly) even direct operation of US advanced weaponry, has resulted in:

- the killing of Russian field commanders

- (likely, but not certainly) the sinking of the Moskva

- the terrorist-style attacks on Russian cities

- recent attacks on Russian ammo depots

To emphasize: US military personnel are directly involved in battlefield strikes against Russian forces and terrorist strikes against Russian civilians.

There are rampant reports swirling on various Telegram channels that US personnel are actually operating the 12 HIMARS mobile rocket systems recently entered into the battlefield.

However you measure it, the indisputable fact remains that the hard power of the United States is being directly applied against Russians in a war – and that is something that has profound potential consequences – the flapping of butterfly wings that could very likely spawn hurricanes in their wake.

The leaders of the United States are, quite literally, playing with fire.

The Russians may have their shortcomings – that is up for debate – but backing down from a fight forced upon them offends every fiber of their national psyche.

Frankly, I believe it is already too late for the US to avoid the inevitable repercussions of what they have already done, and continue to do in Ukraine. What the Russians will do in response to this direct US involvement in the war – and when – remains to be seen. Putin is the most prudent and deliberate Russian leader in modern times.

But it should now be abundantly evident to everyone that when he chooses to act, he does so boldly and resolutely.

Last week, in brief comments, Putin said the following:

“Today we hear that they want to defeat us on the battlefield. What can you say? Let them try.”

“We have heard many times that the West wants to fight us to the last Ukrainian. This is a tragedy for the Ukrainian people, but it seems that everything is heading towards this.”

“Everyone should know that, by and large, we haven’t started anything yet in earnest.”

Russia now understands it is at war with America. I am convinced they will, sooner than later, respond proportionately to US attacks upon them.

One likely development about which I have commented for weeks now is that, if/when Russia opts to act against US direct intervention in the Ukraine War – which has expanded in recent weeks – their most likely initial response will be to shoot down all the unmanned US ISR assets in the theater of battle. Platforms such as the RQ-4 Global Hawk, and possibly even military surveillance satellites.

If they do that, I would then expect them to immediately afterwards explicitly inform the US/NATO that they will shoot down any and all manned ISR assets in the theater of battle.

RQ-4 Global Hawk

And, by “theater of battle”, I include the air space of the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea, Romania, and Poland.

Obviously this would be viewed in the west as a major escalation.

But, from the Russian viewpoint, the escalation has already occurred.

BEFORE 2014, PUTIN poisoned Yanukovych’s rivals and bought Yanukovych’s loyalty,

I gotta chuckle whenever I see posts like that one, especially since you far left Dems are quite silent on the very high number of Bill/Hilary Clinton enemies who have mysteriously ended up getting murdered, without their killers ever being brought to justice.

You should watch (re-watch) the movie “The Bedford Incident”. Listen carefully to the dialog. It discusses “desperation” to a T.

It is possible the United States will destroy itself before any war happens with Russia.

Lunatics and perverts in charge are running loose across America and the USA has no southern border.

Look at America’s large cities. Does the USA look like a country with any rational people in charge?

Who holds the moral high ground with decadence, crime, wholesale ignorance spewed by leaders and decay everywhere to be seen in the USA?

America is a country in which people in leadership cannot define the word “woman.” They cannot agree on what person can give birth.

Americans have lost trust in their elections.

The USA barely functions anymore. The nation can no longer manufacture its most essential needs and does not even make aspirin anymore.

U.S. airlines cannot maintain schedules.

U.S. vehicle manufacturers cannot finish building cars and trucks because of shortages of computer chips America does not manufacture.

The military leadership cannot meet recruiting goals while simultaneously working to kick out tens of thousands of trained service members because they refused an ineffective and deadly injection they were ordered to take.

I often think about that movie. Dano was too highly-strung.

From that movie, I decided to try frying sliced potatoes and pan-frying then with red cabbage and pepper. I fried chopped onions in there too, with a little butter 🧈 and some olive oil or Italian dressing.

Not bad.

When Duran’s Alexander Mercouris was asked about the Americans operating the HIMARs and what Russia’s response might be, he said.....

“But, they might retaliate in some other ways. Now, in Syria, there was an instance in Syria. It was not widely publicized, but I know for a fact that it happened...don’t ask me how, but I do know for a fact that it happened. There was a U.S. air strike which killed some Syrian soldiers in a city in the east of Syria called Deir el-Zor making it much easier for ISIS to surround that city and I believe some Russians were killed in that airstrike and the Russians retaliated directly against what was called a “war room”...a base, an intelligence base operated by U.S. agents; intelligence people in Syria. And they launched an airstrike against it and quite a lot of Americans were killed. Now this is hushed up, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if something similar starts to happen in Ukraine. I think Americans are pushing the envelope very, very far and I would be very surprised if the Russians don’t respond in some ways and I suspect that at some point there will be, if there isn’t already, strong warnings from Moscow to the U.S. not to push this any further than they have done.”

I posted about that airstrike on here on FR

US base in eastern Syria targeted with missiles
TEHRAN, Jul. 04 (MNA) – News sources reported that an American base in the east of Deir ez-Zor was targeted with several missiles on Monday night.

News sources reported two explosions in Deir Ezzor province in eastern Syria.

Al-Arabiya news channel, quoting its sources, on its Twitter page reported that an American base in Deir ez-Zor was targeted on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, Tehran-based Al-Alam Network also reported that two explosions took place in the Al-Omar oil field in the east of Deir Ez-Zor, and a huge fire broke out after that.

Local sources also reported that helicopters belonging to the US-led international coalition are currently flying near Al-Tanf area in the border triangle of Syria, Jordan and Iraq.

No further details about the possible casualties as a result of these explosions have not come out yet.

This morning Russia reported.....

On July 14, Kalibr high-precision sea-based missiles hit the building of the garrison house of officers in the city of Vinnitsa.

◽️At the time of the strike, a meeting was held at this military facility between the command of the Ukrainian air forces and representatives of foreign arms suppliers on the transfer of the next batch of aircraft and weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as organizing the repair of the Ukrainian aviation fleet. As a result of the strike, the meeting participants were destroyed.”

“Our fighting men are phenomenal….they are lions”

They are indeed. The problem is; there’s not many of them available. Been seeing articles lately that recruiting numbers are way down for all branches. And, about only 10% of desired age group can pass the physical, background check, etc. if we’re going to fight a major adversary such as Russians, Chinese, etc, we will need a lot more bodies. Hello draft….

And just what did we do when the stone age warriors of Afghanistan forced us out of Afghanistan just last year in a wild chaotic manner, after slaughtering 13 of our troops in the airport “protected zone”?

We didn't use nukes either. Which is another example of why this Russian propagandist narrative of "don't stand in the way of Russian aggression or you'll start World War 3" is such a joke.

Russia may well use nukes if invading armies ever try to roll across its borders. It is not going to use nukes if its invasion of another country is resisted.

If HIMARS is doing what we are told it is, Putin may bring out tactical nukes. Then I suppose we would have to supply Ukraine with the same.

It’s called escalation.

We would not need larger numbers of troops to resist another Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russia itself had even fewer troops than we did prior to this war, and the war has only made things worse for them.

So now, rather than Russia theoretically overwhelming our technological advances with greater numbers of troops and equipment, we would have not only the technological advantage, but the numbers advantage of well. NATO would rip them to shreds in short order if they ever decided to invade a NATO member, which is exactly why that's not going to happen.

The only time we would need the massively increase our numbers is if we were actually planning on invading Russia itself. The only people promoting that idea are Russian propagandists who are trying to use the unfounded fear of WW3 to have the West abandon Ukraine.

And it obviously isn't working, which is why Russian propaganda is having to work overtime.
