We are facing a demographic disaster. There are more Americans over the age of 80 than under the age of 2. Look to Japan for a view of how the future is likely to unfold here.

Also, look at the U.S. GDP growth figures over the last 10-15 years. During the Trump administration we hit a peak around 2.9% in 2018. It was held up as an awesome performance at the time. A number like that would have been seen as a miserable failure in the 1980s.

I agree. However, I find it hard to understand how one is the most tangentially related to the other (inflation).

While I am a big fan of Trump in general, this was PRIMARILY a buzz from the tsunami of funny money that BHO's fed printed, and then choked off with regulations. Cutting taxes and regulations are great to jump start a sputtering economy but real long term health of a nation's econoomy comes ONLY from restraining government spending. Trump is a real estate speculator who takes the principles of leveraging debt in real estate deals and applies them to the nation. He did not restrain spending at all. Don't get me wrong. I love him and cannot imagine the disaster of Hildebeest in office. Just sayiing that the numbers weren't that great.

Again, demographics and inflation/deflation are not exactly joined at the hip.

If I need to be re-educated there, I am all ears.
