Russia takes Satan-2 hypersonic nuclear missile into forest for imminent new tests amid warning the weapons is about to go into 'serial production'

Russia is warning that new tests of its deadly hypersonic Satan-2 missile are imminent and on the brink of going into 'serial production.'

Vladimir Putin's space chief Dmitry Rogozin has been seen inspecting the giant weapon as it was taken into a forest by rail.

'The world's most powerful global-range nuclear-tipped missile is being prepared for new tests and serial production,' said Mr Rogozin.

Russia state TV and politicians have regularly suggested deploying the missile during the Ukraine crisis.

Thats no different than what one could claim for any multiple warhead ballistic missile. The only advantage of a hypersonic cruise missile is its ability to maneuver and so evade ABM systems.

That is no real advantage at all in a general nuclear exchange as the US simply hasnt got enough ABMs to make a dent in the potential attacking force.

Hypersonic also allows for the hitting of targets so fast that not much of anything bringing them down. US still lacks true hypersonic missiles and lags behind both China and Russia in such.
