The National Labor Relations Board has certified unions at 133 of Starbucks’s roughly 9,000 locations as of last month, with workers officially rejecting unionization in 15 cafes and challenges in 11 others, the agency said. Two of the stores closing in Seattle are unionized, while one store in Portland has petitioned to unionize, a Starbucks spokeswoman said.
I would hope that those will be limited to problem areas. I wonder if they will get accusations of racism because of that? Strictly drive-thru has no appeal for me because when I go out for coffee or food or whatever, I like to consume it there. Even if I am picking up something for the road, a lot of times it’s faster to go inside.
