I suspect that mom/dad pushed them to surrender after seeing their faces in the video and that’s the ONLY REASON they turned themselves in.
You have to give those parent(s) credit for doing the right thing, even if for the wrong reasons, like trying to get the best deal, which may not be the case. Many blacks in Philly are descendants of colonial-era freedmen, and are church-going victims of the same thug culture in their own neighborhoods. Christian Street in South Philadelphia, for blocks and blocks from Broad St to Grays Ferry Avenue, has one black church after another all the way along. Just sayin.'
