Iā€™m still waiting for someone to explain our national interests in Ukraine. I donā€™t give a rats ass about the third most corrupt country on the planet. I certainly do care about the destruction of our economy and increasing inflation. I am also against the brain dead sanctions regime for Russia. It has only help Russia to pay for its war and made oligarchs more wealthy. In fact, is there anyone that can provide me with an example of economic sanctions working?

The article is bogus.

What they're doing is comparing the amount of foreign aid only. They are ignoring completely all the cost of all the troops in Afghanistan.

ā€œNATO countries have not increased their military expenditures since Russia invadedā€

That is not true. Some have not, but many did.

That $40 billion separate authorization in the USA was an unplanned increase. Germany authorized a big current year increase, and suddenly set themselves to meet the 2% of GDP NATO target, for the first time in many decades. The UK has authorized significant new money this year. Forget about Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia - they have pretty much pulled out all the budgetary stops. Poland is signing a contract for 500 HIMARS, for goodness sake.

Saying NATO countries have not increased military spending is misleading at best.

Who were we ā€œsavingā€ those arms for?

My guess is it was to counter the Russians.

Use them now? Or use them later.

Use them now and we donā€™t lose US troops? Iā€™ll take that deal every day.

Killing Ruskies is why they were made.

Russia isn't the Taliban. Allowing Russia to win in Ukraine would have made a Russia-NATO war and a Chinese invasion of Taiwan would have been incalculably expensive.

I'm not a neocon or Zeocon. I've been a nationalist conservative for over two decades. Supporting Ukraine doesn't make me a neoconservative, globalist, or Biden supporter.
The US and NATO have stood behind Ukraine based on 1. The Budapest Memorandum, where the US, UK, and Russia promised to protect Ukrainian sovereignty in return for Ukraine giving up nuclear weapons. How is any country going to trust us or disarm, if we can't be trusted?
2. Since 1945, Europe has been relatively peaceful because invasions of other countries and annexation thereof was out of bounds. Putin's use of Hitlerite language calling Ukraine illegitimate cannot stand.
3. Putin has called the dissolution of the USSR the greatest disaster in world history. Invasion maps of Ukraine showed the plans to invade Moldova too. A war in Moldova could easily bring in their co-ethnics in Romania, which is a NATO country. And then we have the three Baltic Republics, which are part of NATO, and which KGB Russia desires.

Why do so many people here want China and Russia to win, and the US and NATO to lose?
