In March, Russia's parliament passed legislation imposing a jail term of up to 15 years for intentionally spreading "fake" news about Russia's army. The Kremlin has used the law to crack down on those who veer from Putin's narrative of the war.
Intentionally spreading fake news = saying the attack on Ukraine was wrong.
Basically the same as jailing opposition party members... Ever heard of a guy named Navalny?

I believe that if Putin tries to lift foot off the gas, that Biden will do everything he can to keep it going in order to affect the Midterms. He won’t let it go.
