Exactly what I was thinking. If you’re adopted and all your teachers call you adopting mother your “birthing parent,” isn’t that pretty damn insensitive in a world where the wrong pronoun can get you fired?!?

Kind of like the adoption of the term “African-American” for black. We get to call Elon Musk and African-American because he emigrated from Africa. And I’ve heard some people even refer to the native population of Australia as “African-American” because they’ve been so indoctrinated that it means person with dark skin, that they don’t realize how ridiculous it is.
