Why Liz Cheney is in a lot of trouble in Wyoming
CNN ^ | July 7, 2022 | Harry Enten

(CNN)Rep. Liz Cheney has become an unexpected hero for Democrats. She was one of the few Republicans to vote to impeach President Donald Trump last year, has served as one of his most vocal critics in the GOP and is the vice chair of the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the US Capitol.

But we shouldn't mistake adoring press coverage and bipartisan bona fides for popularity in the place where popularity matters most for Cheney: Wyoming. A look at the data reveals that Cheney should be regarded as the clear underdog in her efforts to retain her seat.

Polling from Wyoming is limited, but what does exist paints an ominous picture. The Cooperative Election Study (CES), a large academic survey, asks Americans whether they approve or disapprove of their member of Congress.

The sample sizes in each district are usually in the lower 100s or fewer, though the trend is illuminative. Cheney sported a 72% disapproval rating in the late 2021 edition of the survey, which was fielded about 10 months after she voted to impeach Trump. That was up nearly 40 points from her 26% disapproval rating in the late 2020 version, which was fielded before Cheney's vote. All told, Cheney was the least popular member of Congress in the 2021 survey.

Beltway dynasties have spent the last 50 years establishing an unelected class of ruling masters laundering billions and billions like their personal piggy bank. Trump is an existential threat to 50 years hard work. He threatens it all. These elites need more Biden like more cow bell. They need Trump like a shot to the head.

She represents everything that is wrong with thr political establishment

Only in Congress because of who her dad is…

What put into leadership position though not qualified and only won 2 elections in a district any R is going to win, simply because of who her dad is…

Was absolutely horrible at the job, and when removed blamed everything and the kitchen sink other than the fact she sucked at it…

Then continues to carry the Uniparty bs line

She’s an abysmal failure by every measure but she will tow the Uniparty line so the media will fawn over her

There is not a conservative bone in any bush body. 1They, like the Clintons, are a crime cartel

That's your opinion. I'll tell you one thing though, if it wasn't for SCOTUS appointments by both Bushes, Roe vs Wade case would not have been overturned.

Run as an independent. Wyoming only has about 20% democrats. Not only that but Harriet is a really great replacement. She has deep roots in Wyoming and is loved by her fellow ranchers.

"She’s not in any trouble. Lib will lose her primary, run as an independent, and win, like Joe Lieberman once did."

The Democrats want her to win so Republicans in Wyoming might want to join the election board as so as possible to help ensure there isn't any tweeking the election process in her favor.

Democrats will try to find the weakness in the system and they will take advantage of any weakness.

Why does she hate Trump so much? What did Trump ever do to her before she voted to impeach him?

Capt. Obvious is probably preferable to CNN’s prior rank of Lt. Liar

And if not for both bushes, we would have become an ally to the fledgling democracy of Russia after the iron curtain came down, and we would not have one of the largest entitlement programs in the history of this country.
And don’t even get me started on the so called patriot act

You can cross over, but it won't save here. Here's why: https://sos.wyo.gov/Elections/Docs/VRStats/2022/22JulyVR_stats.pdf

Dems were dying off well before any mention of party switching started, so I don't see anything suspicious in the latest drop. There may be a few party-crossers, but the support for Hageman is so lopsided anyone with sense (if there is any on the Dem side) has to know supporting Cheney is a waste of time. Switching to R just demoralizes any Dem looking at the numbers. At the rate of the last six months it will only take 10 more years to completely eliminate Dems from Wyoming (we could wish).

As a rule Wyoming residents don't pay any special attention to politics - that would contradict the whole mindset of not being dependent on government in the first place. So that explains why Liz was able to get in without much scrutiny. But we know her now, and she's a goner.

Bill Clinton was President at that time. (1993 - 2001)

Vladimir Putin did not become President until December 31, 1999. George W. Bush became President on January 20, 2001.

Liz Cheney’s biggest challenge should be looking at herself in the mirror. Rotten is no way to get the spoils

I think she hates Trump to the point of self destruction because Trump was very critical of Bush Cheney when he was President. She never got over it.
