Florida Democrats pick their battles, but can they pull out of election tailspin?
Orlando Sentinel via MSN ^ | July 7, 2022 | Steven Lemongello

DeSantis’ redistricting map was efficient in eliminating toss-up seats in the state.

In all, 20 of the 28 districts now favor Republicans over Democrats under the governor’s map that will be used this year.

One of the lost toss-up districts was Murphy’s District 7, which went from including much of Democratic-leaning central Orange County to one that stretched across Republican-leaning Volusia.

As a result, while eight candidates fight it out on the Republican side, including state Rep. Anthony Sabatini, the biggest name among the four Democrats is Karen Green, a vice chair of the state Democratic Party. The amount of money the four Democrats have raised in the second quarter has not been released yet, but until then they are listed as raising a combined $0.

“When money is going to be a disadvantage, you have to be more strategic,” Isbell said. “But when you become strategic, then people claim you’re abandoning stuff. The reality is the money gap between these two sides is so severe that there’s no option.”

While national Democrats were successful in recruiting Murphy, then a Rollins College instructor, against incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. John Mica in 2016, it’s a different situation today, Schale said. Mica had a strong position as an incumbent, but the district was much more evenly split between the parties than it is today.

The new District 7 voted for President Donald Trump over Joe Biden by 5.5 percentage points in 2020, and the elections site FiveThirtyEight gives Republicans a 14-point edge there.

It’s the same situation with U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist’s seat in Pinellas County, which became more Republican-leaning in the new map. Crist is running for governor instead.

It’s not just ‘Rats that are tailspinning, but the ‘Rat “R’s” as well. May the whole lot of them rot.

There are ONLY TWO parties now in existence:

The Deep State ‘Rat party, and the Patriots Party. For 2022, it should be a landslide.

Republicans should do a complete sweep of all supply closets in all the polling places to make sure that there are no “magic ballots” that always seen to appear there in the hours and days following the election.

on the other hand, the Demon Rats have million$ of in-kind contributions from the media in Florida.

Newspapers, local tv stations, talk radio outlets and even internet sites all gather together to bash conservatives and Republicans.

The purchase of conservative Latin talk stations is only the most publicized of these actions, but the media is big time left wing in Florida.

I can tell you this, the Orlando Sentinel didn’t mind redistricting one bit when the Democrats were drawing the maps.

Right.

That one little area of upper Lower Peninsula Michigan had overwhelming victory for Biden despite 80%+ GOP registration.
“Unsolved Crimes” series may look into it. /S
