Nah, not buying that. The 2S19 would be a high priority target for HIMARs, moreso than an ammo dump if it can counter battery fire HIMARS missions. Also the HIMARs in that area conduct night firemissions so the Orlon would have to be on station when they entered which is also doubtful due to advance Recon -that’s their main job, to approve a fire mission only after the firing points are green.
Why don’t they use the Orlon 10 for photographing the HIMARS wreckage? That would be a huge propaganda coup. They haven’t because there most likely isn’t any HIMARS wreckage.
I’m not sure I like using our missiles to fire into Russia is why I asked. It’s risky to gamble how Putin will respond.

I have no idea what you think “serious confirmation” is. The Biden/Zelensky/NATO/UK/MSM sources? If so, you probably believe that the UFA was “evacuated” from Avostal, that the Russians are suffering massive losses of men and material, that the Ghost of Kiev is flying around somewhere, that Miss Ukraine really went to the front with her airsoft gun, that the Russian Army carried out a massive rape campaign, that the Russians slaughtered the UFA soldiers on Snake Island, that Azovs, OUN, and Right Sector aren’t Neo-Nazi, that the Zelensky regime isn’t repressive or running out of cannon fodder, that this isn’t a US/NATO led proxy war in which the ordinary Ukrainians are used pawns, that Russia is being terribly hurt by Biden/NATO sanctions, etc.
While no source is right all the time, the Biden/Zelensky/NATO/UK/MSM sources have mostly been conducting a massive psyops campaign (with occasional detours into the truth to cover their asses). Lamentably, even the Russian MoD briefings are far more accurate than the aforementioned sources.
The MSM/government reporting on this is no more honest than the reporting during the Covid “crisis”...or the continuing reporting regarding Covid.
I’ve already replied to this elsewhere. The Russian sources have been far more reliable than Biden/NATO/Zelensky/MSM. The claim, of course, could be wrong, but I doubt it. There is video on Intel Slava Z. The Russians are slowly and methodically destroying the UFA. This is a tragedy. The Ukrainians are being used as pawns and cannon fodder. BTW, the MSM, if it reports on this at all, will slow to report it. Even now, for example, I don’t see big MSM stories about the vast quantities of US/NATO weapons that are being sold on the black market by Ukrainians or captured by the Russians.
As for “shoot and scoot”, you are right. That is what has to be done, but I doubt it will be effective. The Russians have air superiority over the Donbass, and their drones very effectively and accurately locate UFA formations and material. Given the Russian advantage in high precision missiles and high precision, long range artillery, it’s no wonder that the UFA is losing men and material at a high rate. Slavyansk and Kramatorsk will probably fall within a couple of weeks, and then Kharkov and Odessa. I expect the Russians to halt at the Dnieper, except in the south, where I expect them to press on to Transnistria. We’ll see. A lot depends on what NATO does.

So you are not buying how Russian equipment actually works - the ZSU is targeting barracks and ammo dumps with the HIMARS, not Orc LR artillery.
Orlons have IR cameras so night is not a problem; they can remain on station for 16 hours at 5km altitude, sending signal to Mstas 120km away.
ZSU HIMARS have no way to find, target or correct Orc LR artillery in real time, except by chance.

You do understand that 155mm Western shells and MLRS rockets are being fired daily into Russia (Bryansk, Sumy, Kurst, and Belogord regions) as part of the artillery ping pong? So it makes a difference if its a HIMARS rocket?
Just look at any WWII or WWI images of troops leaving the front and you will see the same looks. Defeat has nothing to do with it - generals suffer defeat, troops suffer war.

But I guess that can’t have happened because it hasn’t been mentioned by NYT, WAPO, CNN, President Depends, the Daily Mail, or MSNBC.
