You know absolutely crap about Patton because all you know is the silly movie.
If you ever read his book, War As I Knew It, you’d understand that he was an extremely technical minded general, constantly applying the latest battle statistics to understand how his army was faring.
He did not have an ounce of mysticism in how he conducted the war. Nor does his book mention anything like that whatsoever.

It was said that Patton had the ability at a glance to know the (logistical) carrying capacity of a road he was traveling. That’s a critical skill for a commander pushing mobile forces in the attack. If he had a flaw it was when his 3rd Army got tangled up in the Loraine after Ike took his fuel supplies away. Set piece battles were not his forte.
