Trump thinks announcing a 2024 run now could distract from the January 6 hearings, a report says. Some Republicans worry he could hurt them in the midterms.

President Donald Trump could be planning to make an unusually early announcement of his plans to run for president, but not all Republicans are convinced it would be the right move for the party.

Trump has long teased a 2024 White House run and has continued to hold campaign-style rallies, all while stopping short of saying definitively if he plans to enter the race. However, recent revelations from the House Select committee's hearings on the January 6 insurrection are impacting his plans, according to a report from The New York Times.

Now, Trump is considering announcing a run far earlier than expected, possibly even this month, in part as an attempt to distract from the hearings, the outlet reported.

Yeah, God forbid if anyone has their own opinion, better ban em.

Isn't it curious how these blind Trump supporters behave like the leftist cancel culture when anyone doubts the party line?

They are lemming zealots who do not allow for anyone to question the king.

Speaking of ignorance, please give examples of these “campaign laws” that determine when candidates can announce. (They don’t exist).

You mean the nation isn’t riveted by the January 6 hearings, and seeing Liz Cheney holding court?

You mean the nation isn’t see this Cassidy woman as the “John Dean” of Trump’s administration, as they compare January 6 to Watergate?

sarcasm

Political worship, imo, should be limited to the communist realm. I voted Trump twice and will gladly again, but he’s not some sort of god that’s above any criticism. I didn’t and still don’t like that I was getting about 50 emails/txts for a solid 2-3 months after the election was done asking for money.

I like Elon Musk a lot too, but if he started basically e-begging I’d eventually get a bad feeling about it.

There is running ... and then there is running. Bill’s woof (HRC) started running for 2016 in November 2012. The leftist media had puff pieces for over 2 years about woofer “thinking” about the 2016 nomination, and how millions of demonkraps wanted woofer to run. You know, the unofficial official official campaign stuff ... being organized behind the scenes and before your very eyes.

In a country where the leftist media makes illegal campaign contributions to the demonkrap party through their “journalism”, it would be great move, no?, to see snake Garland send the FIB have Trump arrested for campaigning too early. Trump would get elected for that alone ... and no one would believe the 115 million ballots that showed up for the demonkrap... whoever it is.

Based on the amount of fundraising emails I receive, I’d agree.

IMNSHO, I believe that President Donald Trump should continue to live rent-free in everyone's head, right up until the moment he Constitutionally and legally needs to put himself on the ballot(s).

Make the Enemedia and RINOs and the Demons keep guessing on his intentions.

Make them speculate and ruminate and ponder and pontificate. Make them wonder and guess and agonize and pay consultants and pollsters and anyone else willing to tell them what they want to hear.

Keep being the Kingmaker. Win more often than you lose. Constantly remind, not just the 81 million, but that still-squishy middle, just how badly the Dems are continuing to make their lives, and how much worse it will get with the current crop of RINOs and Demons.

Be the rock. Be the sword. Be unbowed and unbroken.

Translation: The left is afraid Trump will announce his 2024 run and distract from the circus they call the January 6 hearings.

Nobody cares about 2020 and Jan 6.

Speak for yourself. Our nation hangs in the balance because of the stolen election and the attempt to silence and persecute anybody who speaks up about it.

“You are a blind follower who does not think for themselves.”

Would it not be better to use “himself” rather than “themselves”?

Also, no one has every accused McCarthy of being a fighter. He merely acquiesced to Nancy Pelosi. And he attacked Trump for Jan 6 riots.

“You are ill-informed and a childish name-caller.”

How do you separate yourself from being a childish name-caller when you accuse me of being a childish name-caller?

You are insentient.

Yup, but most of them are RINO’s, if not worse. How do we get better replacing old RINO’s with new ones? I mean ya’ll complain about the LGBTQ agenda and then vote for it. It is insanity.

There is a difference between rehashing the 2020 election and ensuring the integrity of future elections. We already know what the Dems did, and how they did it, in the battleground states:
- Mail-in ballots
- count walk-in ballots first (to see how many mail-in ballots will be needed)
- stop processing and counting around mid-night
- start back up with only Dems processing and counting - no witnesses
So let’s work to ensure we have lots of poll workers, spring loaded lawyers, and processors/counters in battle ground states/cities. Constant rehashing of the 2020 election detracts from doing these things.

Don’t believe a damn thing from the NY Slimes. There is one constant: whatever Trump does or doesn’t do will be attacked by the left, which includes RINOs. Only RINOs worry about Trump running again. The rest of assume that Trump is already running. It will be no big news to us when Trump publicly declares. Sure, we will celebrate for 5 minutes, but it won’t be a surprise and we’ll get right back to work.

I'd say don't distract from the midterms. Plenty of time to announce after.

If Trump announces he is definitely not running, Jan 5 Soviet star chamber committee ends and the Dems have nothing to run on for midterms

Exactly right. That is why Trump needs to stop repeating what happened and clearly lay out what we must do to keep it from happening again. PS Critisizing Trump is not being a Never-Trumper.
