It seems to me that the Secret Service and the commentariat are misfiring in their claimed contradictions of Cassidy Hutchinson. If there is a proper target of criticism (and that’s not clear at this point), it is the House January 6 committee, not the witness.
In the course of her riveting testimony Tuesday (which I described in a column posted last night),
[cut]
We shouldn’t leap to the conclusion that anyone is lying. But we should be provided with all of the relevant testimony. And, contrary to the committee’s practice, there should be probing cross-examination so we can get to the bottom of any discrepancies.

A Closer Look at the ‘Hearsay’ Claims Surrounding Hutchinson’s Trump Testimony - me @NRO Corner ... https://t.co/DI39YbXiaK— Andy McCarthy (@AndrewCMcCarthy) June 29, 2022

In a sane world Congress would be investigating the stolen election — not the people protesting against it.
.
McCarthy is Deep Swamp.
I’ve read enough of his criticisms of Trump while he expects his boys Joe and Hunter to be protected by his FBi and DoJ.
.
Maybe I heard my neighbor tell me his nephew’s barber overheard some media types plotting with Dems to lie to slander Trump. Can I testify now?
He is a fraud.
He is a fraud.
She lied. The committee knew she was lying.
The Secret Service has debunked her testimony. So has anoteh staffer. And others
Hutchinson knew what she was doing. Don’t cut her a break. No one should get to work in the White Hut that is do ignorant that they don’t know what hearsay is. Perhaps McCarthy should read that one in the big ten about bearing false witness. Obviously, everyone on the 1/6 commission has the same problem.
Hearsay is double-plus good.
Eye-witness accounts? Don't trust 'em! The hearsay is much more reliable.
That's quality legal analysis, folks.
Cross examination makes sense but the J6 do not want to get to the bottom of anything. This is not an investigative panel, it is a persecution committee and their final decision has already been pre-made.
All else being equal, what this committee decides is generally irrelevant and non-consequential. However, in this case, the J6 considers themselves a pseudo-grand jury and the DOJ is in lockstep with them. That right there is an argument that due process should be involved in these circumstances.
A lie is an end not a means.
I don’t believe these bimbos who supposedly were conservatives working for President Trump and as soon as the President was out of office, the hos started trashing him and writing their tell all “books.” Greedy hookers is what they all are. Cashin’ in on being hired by President Trump. Why not? All the RATs and military brats (the Vindmans) are cleaning up by committing treason.
Well, Brett is on my shit list now!
Not gonna watch him anymore!
This is my closer look-—
1. Those who worked in Trump’s White House had Executive Privilege and generally were unwilling to be deposed by J6 Committee.
2. J6 committee brings in low level Cassidy who says ‘so and so’ said this’
3. J6 committee demands that ‘so and so’ testify.
4. The objective of the J6 committee is to get around ‘executive privilege’. And never-Trumpers like Andrew McCarthy are helping the J-6
.
Did McCarthy explain why being under oath means absolutely nothing?
And McCabe, Comey, Page, Strzok, and Yates lied their asses off, only to have the FBi and DoJ expedite clearing their books for Publication and Millions upon Millions.
He’s like Gowdy, always gonna believe and spread Fables and Lies when obviously Justice has nothing to do with anything.
.
.
Testimony can be on-air or in closed session.
Nothing that remotely helps Trump makes it to TV.
Simple.
They had already interviewed Hutchinson and knew precisely what she would say.
.
Have we heard from Mark Meadows?
AFAIK - all we’ve heard from is an anonymous source who says that the driver and the secret service men both deny her story - but we haven’t heard directly from them...have we?
And then there is a question as to who wrote the note - she says it’s her handwriting but supposedly an attorney is claiming he wrote it - that would be so easy to prove.
I don’t know how such a low level aide would be told of any incident in a car - it sounds fishy but we need to hear from the people directly involved.
Even so...if Trump really did grab the wheel...how is that a crime????? And if it’s a crime then what about all the other things that politicians have done...especially Biden using taxpayer money to bribe Ukraine not to prosecute his son.
