While Gov. Gavin Newsom has pledged to make California a sanctuary for women seeking abortions, his administration won't spend public money to help people from other states travel to California for the procedure.
Newsom's decision, included in a budget agreement reached over the weekend, surprised abortion advocates who have been working with the governor for nearly a year to prepare for a potential surge of patients from other states coming to California for abortions now that the U.S. Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade.
California's operating budget, which is scheduled for a vote in the state Legislature on Wednesday, includes $20 million for an “Abortion Practical Support Fund” to pay for things like airfare, lodging, gas and meals for people seeking abortions in California. But the money can only be used to help people who already live in California, not people traveling from other states. The fund will accept private donations, but it’s unclear if that money can cover out-of-state travel expenses.

No one goes to Hell alone. Maybe that can be the theme of the DNC convention in 2024.
OH NOOOOOEZ !!!
What to do ????
Oh my, I bet people in Hollywood and other “progressive” circles will be disappointed with their governor over this, eh?
Cauliphonya! The Baby Killin’ Granola State. Once you get past the fruits and nuts, there’s nothing left but flakes.
Where’s our plan. The national registry of willing adoptive parents? Then there’s the financial resources to form agencies that help young girls in trouble-It could be staffed with women who regret having one.
Thank God. We blow enough taxpayer money on stupid and/or evil programs within California. We don’t need to spend more on out-of-state recipients.
All this time I have held myself back from doing to the evil Leftists what they deserve. To judge us all because we couldn't help our taxes being spent in an evil manner by heathens in DC and elsewhere would be an unfair judgement on us, in my opinion. And because we didn't destroy them all. We all obeyed the laws.
Joan Baez spent tens of thousands of dollars over years in court after court to demand that her withholding of portions of her income taxes that would have gone to the Vietnam and other wars according to her honest faith was right. The courts disagreed and grabbed her money and interest to make a point.
While I did not agree with her, I admire the anti-government stance and see that it is all futile. We cannot keep our tax money away from the evil uses of the Dems.
If God punishes us, the good Remnant (in Isaiah) amidst the filthy, evil sinners the Dems in power in the government who grab our tax money for abortion murder, then we are finished.
May be true but I believe God is good and will not punish us along with the dirty sinning Dems around us now.
Keep to Faith!
Yes, I will keep having faith in God’s justice.
Thanks for not taking offense at my post. I’m at a bad time still in grief over losing my dear wife on Feb.26th. See a lot of darkness in the population now.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I will pray for you and your family and your wife.
“I believe God is good and will not punish us along with the dirty sinning Dems around us now.”
I wish that were true, but God has punished entire civilizations due to the sins of some.
And it’s possible, even probable, that God is finished with us and there’ll be no more mercy. It’s clear in the Bible that end times will be EXACTLY as they are now.
Most theologians agree that in aeschatology (symbolism in Revelation) there is no reference to America even existing in the end.
Every person must make decisions now to ensure he’s ready to go.
Thank you very much. I miss her a lot.
