The media aggressively push the Trump-against-DeSantis narrative

Donald Trump is the only Republican presidential candidate in modern history who not only ran against Democrats but also against the establishment of his own party.

Trump was also the recipient of vicious and baseless attacks from the media, showbiz, academia, intelligence agencies, big tech, big corporates, foreign leaders, etc.

While the absence of these attacks would have helped him. They did not affect his popularity or his electoral prospects significantly because Trump‘s candidacy was based on grassroots support, not media hype.

As the late great Rush Limbaugh observed, Trump created an almost unbreakable bond between him and his voters, hence, only Trump could break it. The media was just a bystander.

When he was elected in 2016, the Democrat media complex launched a focused anti-Trump campaign.

From the Russian collusion hoax to the two baseless impeachments, the media tried its best to evict him from the White House. They suppressed Trump's achievements of prosperity for Americans and peace around the world. They concocted stories of chaos in the White House. They amplified anti-Trump voices, including those of former Trump White House personnel.

When nothing worked, they resorted to rigging the contest.

DeSantis is too smart to fall for it. He will stay out, as long as Trump is in.

The media aggressively try to divide the Republican Party, of course.

Ignore them.

I’m not “establishment”. Im a MAGA supporter of Trumps 2016 agenda who wants a competent leader who can actually deliver. Under Trump we got Fauci and no wall. Under Desantis, I predict we’ll get a wall and no Fauci. MAGA!

MAGA POWER

President Trump's endorsement record is 144-10

DeSantis was an early endorsement years ago...

You are a NeverTrumper who regularly lies about Trump's pretend failures and lack of accomplishments.

As much as I like President Trump—more so his policies— I am in favor of him holding his fire and decision until the last minute and then pass the torch over to Desantis. It is about the policies winning not the man. It would be satisfying to have Trump run and win, but it would be better for the country to have Bidens policies unwound and the country returned to its citizens. Personally I think this has all been worked out between Trump and Desantis, all that is left to do
Is the timing.

The dims are only attempting to split the conservative vote hoping that 50% of the conservatives will stay home on election day, mad that their pick was not on the ballot.

Truthfully, they do not want either to win because both are very much opposed to the lib agenda and will vigorously fight it. and both have the smarts to defeat the dims.

The media aggressively push the Trump-against-DeSantis narrative.

You don't say! And lots of people here have been falling for it, too.

The media aggressively try to divide the Republican Party, of course.

They also are competing for their cut of the billions that will be spent on advertising, they make little if they are not outrageous. Bland campaigns produce little revenue for then so they create all the controversy they can.

Under Desantis, I predict we’ll get a wall and no Fauci. MAGA!

Since Fauci has already declared he would not serve again hardly a great prediction and the open boarder has gotten so bad even the open border Rinos will have to at least look like they want to close it.

I have said for twenty years the wall wouldn't matter if we failed to enforced the law and unless we do the wall is little more than a symbol. Remember when all the fuss was being raised about racial profiling, the purpose was to facilitate illegal border crossing.

So true. Never-Trumpers lurk in the strangest of places.

As I see things:
1. Trump will do what Trump wants to do re 2024.
2. DeSantis will do what Trump wants him to do re 2024.

DeSantis is Trump’s MAGA Role Model for how the other 30 GOP Governors should be governing their respective state.

Of course they do... Dems and the Media as well as the uniparty wing of the GOP are the biggest pushers of this...

They know TRUMP is the nominee if he runs.... and they lie, cheated and stole to get rid of him... didn’t work so not going to stop now.

Yep. Divide and conquer - I don’t think it’s going to work.

“Trump created an almost unbreakable bond between him and his voters, hence, only Trump could break it. The media was just a bystander.”

Actually I disagree. The media’s attacks on Trump were a key part of creating that bond. They were the proof to many people that Trump could be trusted, because if the media hated him that much, he must have really been an outsider and not just another fake controlled politician.

DeSantis as VP would be a win-win scenario, however.

President Trump will have his hands full, even with a top notch cabinet and very conservative congress. Thus DeSantis would get tremendous authority right out of the gate. Then because President Trump can’t run again, DeSantis would be a shoo-in as the next POTUS.
