Handmaids of Capital
Compact ^ | 6/27/2022 | Matthew Schmitz

"As The New York Times reported in 2018, “the gap between the number of children that women say they want to have (2.7) and the number of children they will probably actually have (1.8) has risen to the highest level in 40 years.” So it’s true that the intentions of American women are being frustrated, and they are being denied control of their fertility. But they are having fewer children than they want, not more."

I thought this was a remarkably good article. We are all in the grip of forces beyond our control...

Those idiotic women who dress up as handmaidens are so pathetic. They play in make believe land.

It’s a superb article. Finally an article that adds to the conversation instead of just rehearsing what we already know.

Pro-abortion rhetoric promises women freedom to pursue meaningful careers.

That "freedom" to pursue a "meaningful" "career" is instead an imperative to grind away in a meaningless job at the expense of having a family. Older women who believed the lies of Feminism and forewent families warn their nieces and grand-nieces about making the same horrific, life-altering mistake.

Feminism promised freedom and instead delivered these women into personal loneliness and servitude to their corporate bosses.

As men distance themselves from social interactions in hostile workplaces, women find that their psuedo-social circle was never a substitute for friends and family. In the end, women are left with no friends, no family, and miserable jobs - but hey, they're free, according to the Feminists.

And part of it, that so many women get into the career grind, and later on they made decide it’s time to try to start a family. But their fertility has declined.

Of course there are individual exceptions, but generally, it’s easier to conceive in your early 20s than your late 30s.

So part of this is that, when women decide to try to start a family, the biological clock is running, and they won’t have as many children as they might have had, because they avoided childbearing during some peak years of fertility.

The real, long-term fix is to have grandparents be available to help raise the kids when couples decide to have kids in their 20’s, as happened in the past.

Handmaidens are so outdated as BRAVE NEW WORLD by Huxley, written much earlier says future babies will be raised in test tubes. Women will no longer be needed for children and the word “Mother” will become so vile that it will be printed as “M——r”.

Very true, grandparents are a great help for families.

They act like The Handmaid's Tale means something to conservatives as if the book and the show are some type of user manual for us. Sorry gals, but that's your garbage. I doubt very many conservatives have gone near any of it and if they did, were immediately repulsed unlike the libs who seem to, well, get off on it.

Yeah, but it’s fun to watch. What do we live for, but to make sport for our neighbors, and to make fun of them in our turn, right?
