Who can say for sure how many operable nukes they have, but even the low ball estimate of 1500 is more than enough to wipe out the US and Europe so what’s your point?

My point is that nukes have to be maintained and replaced on a constant basis and that Russia hasn’t had the capability to do that for five years now. And they likely won’t have the capability to produce large scale numbers of nukes ever again. Not without a massive increase in the defense budget.

Right now they spend ~US$67B per year. Not nearly enough to finance hundreds of nukes let alone thousands.

Read the citation again. That wasn’t an estimate but the official number from the Putin government.

Ukraine could never join NATO. KGB Russia invaded after Germany turned off its nuclear reactors and after the Chinese let them with hte conclusion of the Winter Olympics.

You don't know Geography or which countries neighbor Russia. Mongolia isn't in Europe.
Norway, Latvia, and Estonia already are NATO members. Finland and Sweden are moving to join NATO because of Russian aggression. Russia invaded Georgia in 2008. Russia controls Belarus and Kazakhstan. The leaders of these countries are Russian puppets, who relied on troops from KGB Russia to murder patriotic protestors in the last two years.
Ukraine and Moldova cannot join NATO so long as their borders are disputed. And even without the disputes, there is no way every NATO member would have agreed.
Stop spouting off KGB and communist lies, tovarich

He doesn’t want all of Ukraine, just the Black Sea coastline. And who’s going to stop him? I’m sure the US intends to support an insurgency, but how long will that last when European economies go down the tube? Wake up to the reality, Ukraine is done for at this point. All that will remain is an impoverished rump state dependent on western financial aid for their very survival.
Putin declared Ukraine and illegitimate country full of Nazis, and marched on Kiev. The goal was the conquest of Ukraine and/or replacing its government with puppets like those in Belarus and Kazakhstan

Why would KGB Russia stop using Nazi tactics and rhetoric?

Well, for one thing NORWAY and FINLAND are a heck of a lot more geographically relevant to NATOs original charter - i.e., NORTH ATLANTIC Treaty Organization. Russia’s Warsaw Pact (established years after NATO, BTW) disbanded with the collapse of the USSR. It’s been high time for NATO to do the same, IMO. PARTICULARLY for the United States.

The sanctions look like they may be hurting us more than the Russians. The primary effect seems to have been to raise the price of oil, but Russia can still find plenty of customers to sell its oil to.

“Watch as Russia firstly accuses the whole thing of being staged until someone provides proof it wasn’t, then they’ll accuse the building of being attacked by Uke militants despite the militants being nowhere near there, then they’ll say actually it was a near-empty hold-out for Uke militants despite it being nowhere near the front lines, and finally they’ll admit they fired the rockets but were actually trying to hit a building nearby or some similar form of utter bollocks.”

Almost exactly as predicted Russia has now told the BBC that they didn’t hit a shopping mall, but actually hit a nearby building packed with munitions.

Funny because unless there’s some seriously advanced CGI on everybody’s smartphone in Ukraine that sure looks like a mall to me.

Why do people keep falling for such obvious lies?

While I’m thinking about it: mines preventing grain shipments out of Ukraine. Russia keeps saying this but how come they seem to be having no trouble at all loading their own container ships in Crimea and sailing around the same waters?

Jas anyone actually seen any hard evidence of this enormous flotilla of sea mines, all laid apparently by Ukraine in a matter of days or weeks without a navy? A Ukraine that’s maritime capabilities were dwarfed by the Russian one from day one?

Or is that just another made-up statement from Russia that people are just willing to accept without even a single photograph to completely back it up?

“All our hopes are in the famine”. Margarita Simonyan said.

Andrey Gurulyov, State Duma deputy, former deputy commander of Russia’s southern military district, discussed how to best attack the West, while also purging internal opposition & hunting them down abroad. Talked about returning to the Soviet system.

These pundits keep saying, they’re speaking plainly bevayse we in the west are too thick to understand thrir intentions any other way.

Their moderate diplomats then struggle to polish what seems to be a very thuggish turd.

So which side of Russia is lying? Is it the diplomats who say we’ve got Russia all wrong and they’re being measured and defensive; or the “How stupid are you. We’re rebuilding the USSR, we’re even TELLING you we’re doing it, and we’re going to invade Estonia and Lithuania next” crowd?
