The really big deal is that felons are almost never punished for carrying pistols. Charges are usually dropped or plead down.
But if a solid citizen wants to protect himself from those criminals he will be charged and his life ruined.

How many SUVs for that entourage? 20 to 40? Doubt they travelled by bus.

Michigan became a "Shall Issue" CPL state back in 2001. Leftists were in a panic saying there was going to be gun fights in the streets.
What very few people knew, including law enforcement officers, was that at the time Michigan was already an Open Carry state and had been for years.
That didn't come to light until I think it was Steven Crowder who started walking the streets with an AR and open hand gun. That caused quite a stir but his activism worked......
