Ukrainian forces in Severodonetsk have been ordered to withdraw, according to the top regional official.
The city is the focus of Russia's invasion as it tries to take control of large parts of eastern Ukraine.
"Remaining in positions that have been relentlessly shelled for months just doesn't make sense," Luhansk regional head Serhiy Haidai said.
Russian forces have nearly encircled Severodonetsk in recent days, and are now targeting its twin city Lysychansk.
"They have received orders to retreat to new positions... and from there continue their operations," Mr Haidai told Ukrainian television on Friday morning.

I guess everything is peachy where you are too? Nothing else to be concerned about?
As an infantry vet and one who’s also spent time there, it astounds me how gullible even “Conservatives” are.
Ah, trusted Orc sources ...
“I guess everything is peachy where you are too? Nothing else to be concerned about?”
I don’t make claims like you just made without providing backup, and I never claim to know certain people (and I never claim to have served).
DPA is good, but check out military summary channel if you get the chance. Good straight fwd map analysis and the guy is from Belarus so town pronunciation is correct….half the time with DPA I cannot understand what town he is talking about.
Please note that military summary is a bit of a homer (belarus after all) so the bulk of analysis is from the attacker perspective, but he does delve into what the defenders should think about doing to counter.
Another nice feature is that he uses both the west map as well as the russian map, and has recently started including google earth so you can see terrain features that come into play for attackers/defenders.
Thanks, wd. :)
I don’t say things for the fun of it. I’m tired of the Ukraine WEF scam.
You didn’t serve? That’s fine, not everybody does nor should. I still maintain a lot of contacts and have people still in, though most are in the process of being kicked out now due to refusing the jab.
“You didn’t serve? That’s fine, not everybody does nor should.”
When did I say that I didn’t serve. I only said that I don’t try using that claim as it cannot be backed up publicly.
Generally way more reliable than Uke/Brandonist sources, as I am sure you have noticed.

Right - the attack on Kiev was just a feint and almost no Orc troops have been killed with only a handful suffering light wounds like paper cuts ...
There was never a big attack on Kiev.
Pravda is running some stories we don’t see in the west:
1. Photo of a cache of guided missiles Russians captured, must be 2 dozen+ nice fancy guided types. They appear unfired.
2. Said proRussian Ukrainian militia currently have 2000 total Ukrainian troops trapped in 2 villages. Expect surrender anytime.
3. Also talking about this article saying they almost have the area cut off.
Yes I realize Pravda is based in Moscow but I like to look at both sides. I’m sure they do lie but you know the truth is so does the leftist based MSM companies like CNN, MSNBC etc. plus you would be amazed at some of the critical articles Pravda has published about Putin (as does the Moscow times). The leftist MSM actually show more servility to Biden than Pravda does to Putin.
I’m not cheering for a Russian victory, just cheering we don’t get dragged into a war.
Here is a search on Putin from Moscow times. I guarantee you there are more unfavorable articles on him than you will find on CNN or ABC on Biden.

Thanks for this and I feel the same. Only the most ardent, pro-war Neocons remain dug in. I'm really happy that they have been beaten back.
Which is why it was sarcasm ... Orc sources are made up propaganda for the most part.
Crenshaw is, unfortunately, my Congressman, and he got elected because of his excellent role playing as a “conservative” and because he looks the part. Unfortunately, having been in combat does not qualify someone as either a friend of liberty or as someone who understands complex public policy issues. Crenshaw is a narcissist and a twat. But, because he looks the part and tends to say the right things on the hustings, his seat is safe. The WEF owns a very conservative district.
The story is ridiculous. Servodonetsk has effectively been in Russian hands for 3 weeks. All that remains of the UFA is holed up in a chemical plant that is effectively surrounded, like the UFA troops in Avostal in Mariupol were. The Russians are just letting them run out of food and water so they will surrender because there’s no need for further loss of life. The current news is that Lisishansk is in a “cauldron” and the UFA lines are collapsing. There is no retreat possible by UFA soldiers from Lisishansk, except, perhaps, in tiny groups because Russians have fire control over all the roads. Any unit or armor that tries to get out will be destroyed. It’s a very hard situation for the UFA. Over the last few days I’ve concluded that British reporting may be the worst of the MSM.
Oh well, if you said you did, why would I doubt it? Any vets claiming that I can usually sniff out pretty quickly if false. Only the biggest fools nowadays attempt it.
Since '91 they have participated in 14 wars and invaded 3 sovereign countries. It probably would have been 15 and 4, but their propaganda machine was able to successfully steal an election in Belorussia.
I love that YouTube channel
So have we. You can’t tell others they can’t do what you also do. Try another arguement to support Joe Biden’s war.
There are Uke troops in Lysychansk surrendering now. Over 40 yesterday. The bridges from Severodonetsk to Lysychansk are blown up so there really is no retreat and those 40 guys knew it.
