Definitely not a good idea to kill journalists. Then their deaths become propaganda for other journalists to exploit. I genuinely doubt, however, that the UN did any “investigating” before reaching this foregone conclusion. Israel’s involved, so of course they’re guilty.

Probably investigated in a matter similar to the way they investigate Russian “war crimes”. In the case of Russia, they go to a hotel in Kiev, talk to the Ukraine government, and then publish the results of their ‘investigation’, which is that the Russians did it.
In this case, they probably went to Gaza City, talked to Hamas, and them published the results of their ‘investigation’, which was that Israel did it.

They become ‘journalists’ after they’re killed, if the killing can be pinned (rightly or wrongly) on a hated country.
I think in the case of Russia, they can go to Kiev, look at the big hole in the ground and what’s left of an apartment building, and that would constitute a valid investigation. Or they could listen to the Russian spokesman saying that the apartment building was a meeting place for extremists, just like that maternity ward in Mariupol that they shelled. The story is a great deal clearer when you’re talking about smart bombs and artillery.
