I agree. If I was an FBI agent and asked to raid in force some former government employee for asking to investigate the election process, I would resign on the spot.
They act this way because their god is their pensions. They have shown that there is nothing that they would not do if their god is threatened.
I toss the Uvalde 'police' into this category, as well. I don't think it was so much physical cowardice, but reluctance to not follow their police chief's orders - for fear of getting fired and losing their pensions - if things went south. So letting 19 children, and two teachers, get butchered versus the risk of losing their pension -- well, they chose poorly. Maybe they keep their pensions, but they chose poorly.
But Hannity says 99% of them are fine upstanding patriots.

First, I don’t think they were “asked”. They were “ordered” by someone higher up the chain. That’s the person who should be held accountable.
Second, the agents probably have a family to feed and care for.
Just my opinion for whatever it’s worth.
