The Latest on the Supreme Court ruling on New York’s gun law:
The American Medical Association has called the ruling a “harmful and deeply disturbing decision.”
“Firearm violence is a public health crisis, and easier access to weapons and fewer restrictions on who can carry them — and where they can be carried — are dangerous steps in the wrong direction,” Dr. Jack Resneck, the AMA’s president, said in a written statement. “Overturning decades of reasonable firearm regulations will cost more lives.”
California Gov. Gavin Newsom also called the ruling “dangerous” in a tweet, among other labels such as “shameful” and “a dark day in America.”

THEY all hide behind THEIR security details
Gavin’s hairstyle is shameful.
The same bunch that put doctors and other medical practitioners out of work because they knew HCQ and Ivermectin worked early on...that bunch?
They have ZERO credibility...nada, none. They need to crawl back into their little shite holes and stay there.
Gun violence mostly emanates from the spiritual condition of the nation and the shooters.
Have the commies taken over the AMA also???
After what the AMA and the CDC did during the covidian hoax, I’ll never trust either of them again. They did it to themselves… All for money
Why should we listen to ANYTHING the AMA says?
Medical Error Statistics
- Medical billing errors cost Americans $210,000,000,000 annually.
- Roughly 12,000,000 Americans are misdiagnosed each year.
- Medical errors cause an estimated 250,000 deaths in the United States annually.
- As many as 80 percent of medical bills contain at least one error.
- A little more than 4,000 surgical errors occur each year.
- It’s estimated that 7,000 to 9,000 patients die every year from medication errors.
So, how many docs belong to ama? Is that the aarp of medicine?
Chicago is a Public Health crisis...and you say nothing...
I work in the medical field and the AMA has absolutely no business having any position on gun rights. They should be neutral it is an issue outside their scope.
Dark Day in America = Thank you, President Trump for your continued legacy of protecting the Constitution.
How many bad guys get concealed weapons licenses? ZERO?
This whole argument is patently stupid.
Will this ruling put more arms in the hands of bad guys? Of course not.
I always turn to the AMA for advice on Constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms. I wonder if they think Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Association, and Freedom of Religion are causing public health crises, too?
Lots of people were killed and billions in damage was done by the “free speech” riots of the summer of 2020.
Suck it up, buttercup.
About 15%.
I’m going to find a way to send Justice Thomas a message, thanking him for saving innocent American lives today.
That’s exactly what he has done here.
Good docs! Not you!
Decade ago the AMA had a membership of ~75% of practicing physicians. It is now ~15%. The AMA does not speak for all physicians, or even a large minority of them. Like ALL organizations, it is the narcissists/activists who become involved - and they generally ruin the organizations they become involved with.
As a general rule of thumb, whenever you see anyone in any profession or walk of life described as a 'leader', or 'expert', or 'top', they most likely aren't. Same with the AMA. I would never use a list of AMA 'leaders' or members as a guide as to whom I would refer a patient.
If the firearm regulations were reasonable
then they wouldn't have been overturned.
Maybe the regs were around so long because nobody challenged them in court.
...will cost more lives.”
I don't care if it costs criminals their life.
They shouldn't resort to a life of crime.
