Recession for now. Lots of chatter from economic observers that this is setting up for some really bad times.

Agreed; some scary times ahead, especially for those not ready for it, and even for those of us who are ready.

Quick analysis...

This is bush’s 06 recession/depression finally playing itself out..
3 presidents later...
This is going to be a late 70’s/early 80’s level event, and unemployment will be rampant.
I’m not going to go on a rant about the last 3 presidents ignoring the chance to bring us in for a soft landing.
The last 3 presidents kept the printing presses a rollin..

Anyway, having lived through the last one, here is my advice for you young freepers out there...
1) If you have a job right now, cement yourself into it. There will be non available for quite a while.

2) Take full advantage of IRA/401K accounts. It will be a good time to get into the market.

3) Learn to make do with alot less.

The good news is that on the other side of this thing, we will be strong for decades.
Short term pain equals long term relief

Any damn fool can see the trouble coming. It’s not if, it’s when and how much. This is for keeps.
