Shocking testimony from the Texas DPS director on Tuesday has revealed even more insight into the “abject failure” of response to the Uvalde shooting that occurred on May 24.
Texas Department of Public Safety Director Col. Steven McCraw revealed that the husband of slain elementary teacher Eva Mireles tried to save her but was barred from doing so.
Ruben Ruiz is a police officer for the school district and was on the scene after the gunman entered the school and opened fire.
McCraw said Mireles called Ruiz and told him that “she had been shot and was dying.”
“And what happened to him, is he tried to move forward into the hallway,” McCraw said. “He was detained and they took his gun away from him and escorted him off the scene.”
McCraw didn’t say who specifically detained Ruiz.
Yes. Smelly on the part of the particulars about the perpetrator AND on the LE and school System LE and their performance. As I read it, Uvalde is a town of roughly 15K people but they had a full kitted-up SWAT squad of at least 6-8 badasses (supposedly). Why didn’t ANY of them do ANYTHING?
The more that's learned, the worse it looks. Hard to believe policemen would stand around outside a classroom filled with kids knowing a gunman was firing shots as they waited.
“”””“ undoubtedly had a rich homo sugar daddy to got him all the stuff he had. Either that or he was dealing drugs - big time.”
just more questions. Who was the sugar daddy? Big time drug dealers usually are known to the police in some aspect. Why was he still dealing on a big time level? Just like an ripe onion this case gets stinkier the more layers are peeled back.”””
This certainly is one scenario as to why the DPS was silent yesterday as to where did Ramos get the money and also why none of the dozen or so TX Senators asked no question about where did Ramos get the money.
Behind the scenes there may be a major investigation underway of Ramos’s money trail.
Follow the money.
Cops only look out for #1. It’s no surprise at all.
I agree. Most victims no doubt bled to death over more than one hour after they were shot without immediate attention to their wounds.
A couple rifles, body armor, and ammo should not be classified by democrat terms freakout terms such an arsenal
I can certainly understand how police officers want to be safe in a job that can be hazardous in many ways, and have procedures to help them maintain that safety. OTOH, there’s a time to take risks, even big ones, when the situation warrants it. And I would like to think most officers and their spouses and families can understand that.
In this situation they shouldn’t have tackled their fellow officer. They should have recognized the value of the adrenaline and motivation in him, told him they’d have his back, and let him lead the charge. Worry about proper process and procedures later. Because playing it safe was anything but safe for those who bled out.
“Hard to believe policemen would stand around outside a classroom filled with kids knowing a gunman was firing shots as they waited.”
And that some of the people who have been shot were in there bleeding out as time went on.
I’ve heard talk on both sides- he had a new $71 truck, now I heard he had a 2002 ‘beater’, and his expensive ‘arsenal’ was one old gun...
Can anyone confirm which is correct before we go on? It seems like it DOES make a pretty big difference.
I would be interested to see the results of ALL the autopsies which would no doubt reveal many were not killed instantly. They certainly could have been found dead later with most of their blood gone. Arteries bleed quickly when penetrated by bullets. The heart, obviously, pumps blood quickly and a leak empties the circulatory system in a hurry. This is why tourniquets are important to stop serious bleeding.
This also explains why apparently none who were shot survived.
WHERE ARE THEIR AUTOPSIES?
The government wants gun control so badly, they would lie and conceal the true facts of this slaughter and cowardice of the police.
He should be delighted that his wife and her students were deliberately sacrificed as the means to achieve the greater good, the end of private gun ownership.
What an ingrate! </sarchasm>
Ya THINK??!!?‽!‽‽
It was an older truck, lots of pictures on the internet that any competent gearhead can identify.
Let's just assume that given the average shot tempo in a mass shooting, 10 second per victim, that everyone who was shot was shot in the first minute and a half or so.
Ask any shock trauma physician about the golden hour:
The golden hour is the period of time immediately after a traumatic injury during which there is the highest likelihood that prompt medical and surgical treatment will prevent death. While the exact cut off isn't precisely 60 minutes, it is a good approximation of the critical interval.
How long the Uvalde's finest wait before entering?
78 minutes.
Would you think that was a long time for your kid to lay bleeding and in agony while the police and medical care were just outside the door, a door that they claimed was locked, but actually wasn't?
Suppose I'm wrong in my minute and a half duration, suppose it took 18 minutes to shoot 18 people? Suppose you daughter was the last to be mortally wounded. Would having her languish bleeding, in pain and terrified for a full hour be A-OK with you? Would it?
Apparently Uvalde's best trained officers, the "elite" SWAT team, had never ever breached a door in a no-knock drug raid and were udderly (the cows!) unfamiliar with the concept.
Not only that, idiot GOP senators are committing political suicide by voting for gun control in an effort to blunt the GOP midterm wave.
Cornyn and the other 14 traitors are deathly afraid of conservatives getting elected and completely comfortable keeping the commies in power.

Here is what is generally considered to be factual.
1. He had no truck. The truck he crashed near the school was his grandma’s. I do not know the make, model, year.
2. His arsenal included two AR-15 type rifles, one pistol, supposedly 31 magazines loaded with ammo (maybe like 2000 rounds of ammo), and maybe body armor. Now some of that firepower was left near the crashed truck.

Would that be OK with you?

Ramos was certainly a busy boy the days following his 18th birthday and becoming eligible to purchase his arsenal in those few days before he went on his rampage.
