We do seem to have an over-active military-industrial complex that wants to have an external enemy to rally against. Notice all the defense companies are relocating to DC metro area.
It's important to have a powerful military. But we can easily cut down 75% and we will be able to remain our deterence.
But if we cut our military, we should reduce our entitlements (never).
