Thousands of Ecuadoreans took to the streets Tuesday for a ninth day of Indigenous-led fuel price protests, as the military vowed to defend the country's democracy against what it called a "grave threat".

Called by the powerful Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (Conaie) the demonstrators have seen roads barricaded countrywide, cost the economy tens of millions of dollars and left dozens injured.

"Ecuador's democracy faces a grave threat from the concerted actions of ....people who are preventing the free movement of the majority of Ecuadorans," Defense Minister Luis Lara told a press conference, flanked by the heads of the army, navy and air force...

When I lived there before, the national tribal organization was led by a communist, and he was surrounded by European leftist advisors. We bypassed them and dealt directly with the tribes, which annoyed them greatly.

They would periodically occupy the capital and block roads... like now. They would mostly use women with their kids to tend to the burning tires and such, which meant that the army and police would employ no violence to disperse them.

Eventually the tribes, working in tandem with leftist officers, overthrew the elected president. He had to leave with only minutes to spare as the presidential guard stepped aside and let the tribes swarm the national palace.

The tribes themselves are useful cannon fodder for the leftists who control them. Back then I didn’t know who Soros was, maybe he wasn’t a factor then. But its all the same people, the international NGOs, trying to get control using force disguised as popular protest. Protest against what? Doesn’t matter. The protestors literally don’t know.

From what I’ve heard from those living there, this is primarily about gas prices. Ecuadorians are currently only paying half of what it costs everywhere else, so it’s unlikely the government will give in. We will probably see more of these leftist uprisings worldwide as inflation ravages people’s standard of living. Ecuador was one of the countries that was on my list of places to retire, needless to say I’ve now removed it from my list.

Aside from what you said the government in Ecuador must be under Pharma control because they made COVID shots mandatory late last year.

That’s what disturbs me about Ecuador’s government and of course makes me not so angry with these folks even if they are a tool for the “Left”.

Globalism is about Global Capitalism like Pharma, Global Free Markets mixed with Social Leftism which I disagree with.

The Economic Leftists a useful foil for the Crony Capitalists.

They Crony Capitalists get us all upset with the Left while they go about their dirty work like forcing COVID shots on everyone and “Woking” society in general.

It looks like most of latin america has been pushing hard for the covid agenda. Bolsonaro in Brazil wasn’t on board, but they went around him and used state and local authorities to impose the mandates he wouldn’t.

Just about every LatAm country was pushing the vax, and pushing the masks. It was sad, from my perspective. Mexico wasn’t demanding vax or tests to enter, but masking was about universal.
