The FBI is loyal to itself (the bureaucracy) and it is loyal to the power brokers, in particular the Democrats since starting with Obama they became entirely contaminated with partisan political games, ideology, etc. The leadership in the DOJ and FBI became political under Obama and ever since.
The idea of protecting a US Constitution is long gone, dead and buried.
If you were to ask most intel analysts or agents to tell you what the first 10 Amendments state, all can get about 3 of them right, as to the other 7, maybe 1/2 or less will get those even just in a general/conceptual way. These are the people tasked to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic.
So while you might have said that tongue in cheek, you are actually quite right. Organizationally they do not have a culture where the Constitution is central, rather “compliance” to whatever the flavor of the day is from their leadership.
If Biden and the DOJ were to come down with an order to confiscate private guns; somehow, most of the FBI would rationalize following through with such an order. On the other hand, it's easy to talk big, but most people get really small when their money, retirement, health care... is on the line. Most people are followers, sheep, and not willing to stick their neck out for much. Do you really think 99% of the staff at the FBI wanted to be vaccinated? But when leadership pushed really hard, what did almost everyone do?

You can almost tell by what organization pushed the hardest in who the most “woke” are. The FBI proudly proclaiming 99% compliance...
About 20-22% of the population have refused to take even two doses. How did the FBI achieve 99%? By violating peoples privacy (in a sleazy way where they claim they didn't), through coercion and threats. But the leaders of this organization see no wrong in what they did. Because they do not live up to any higher moral or Constitutional standard. They are literally like the GESTAPO that were also following orders when putting folks on the trains to Auschwitz.
