“So the motorist is being combative and yelling at the officer. She has no registration or insurance.”
In that longtime FReeper tradition you commented on this without viewing the actual video.
Because the person in the video is an actual African man.
An acquaintance of mine is a diplomat from Ghana who drives around DC with diplomatic plates and he gets stopped all the time by idiots with badges who ‘are just checking’ and who make demands for ID, registration, licenses, and then ignorantly deny that State Department credentials are valid ID for diplomats.
Each one of these idiotic and needless interactions is literally an international incident. And it would get even worse if some low-IQ jacktard with a badge were to shoot a diplomat for protesting the flagrant violation of their rights.
Your anti-police statements are disgusting. As a former prosecutor and criminal defense attorney, I can assure you that 99.9% of the problems in traffic stops are caused by the black motorist. I, myself, have been pulled over 20 times in my life without a problem. Why? Because I am polite, respectful, and cooperative. In fact, 2/3 of the time the cops let me go without a ticket. It is disgraceful that we as a nation put up with this uncivil behavior. The public response to this clown should be obey the law or go back to the continent from which you came.
Oh. Crap. Everytime I do that I say from now on I will either read the WHOLE article or watch vid if there is one. And of course I did it again. Sorry. That was really the last time. Lol.
Fixed it for you.
Oh, Boo hoo!!! Cry me a river....
Video starts in the midst of the encounter, driver tries to exit vehicle after commenting to his video feed “this dude gonna be famous....”
Don’t care about your diplomat friend from Ghana, don’t care about DC and all your made up problems.....
The real question is: Does Florida law require valid drivers license, registration and proof of insurance, after being stopped for wearing no seat belt?
I don’t get it. I am white, and when I see lights, I pull over.
I don’t antagonize the cop. I just give them what they ask for, and if a discussion ensues such as “Do you know why I stopped you?” I am willing to listen.
I did get really angry with a cop back in the Eighties who stopped me for speeding in my MG Midget, and he said I was doing 90 mph.
I rarely did more than 75 mph, simply because the engine would be screaming RPM wise, and I couldn’t do much more than 80 mph anyway. At that point, I would have had to turn it into a Flintstone car to go faster.
My passenger calmed me down.
Having worked in northern Virginia about 30 years ago, I can GAHROHNTEE the idiots driving cars with diplomatic plates get by with a lot of serious stuff that would see you or I in jail for the night.
US citizens have been crippled and killed by drivers with diplomatic plates who then get off Scott free. At most the offending driver is recalled to their native county.
Nowadays the issuing of Diplomatic plates is done by the Dept of State, Office of Foreign Missions and there have evolved several different types of plates as shown at the link.
