Seems to me that it wasn’t that long ago when we were told that solar flares would be decreasing & to expect that this might mean cooler weather. Why can’t they own up to the idea that maybe these solar flares can’t be predicted & as a result of that any possible weather changes due to the flares also are unpredictable? Or does our president(who can do anything he wants to) have a way of affecting solar flares? Maybe our Energy Secretary (who also has her head where it doesn’t belong) thinks she has a way of increasing energy for solar collectors so they produce more energy on demand. Both of them need to get their heads out of the clouds & do what they can do....which is to get the price of energy/oil down to a reasonable level. Leave the energy from the sun up to someone who knows what He is doing.

While sunspots follow a predictable cycle, and flares come from sunspots, flares themselves can only be predicted at best a few hours ahead of time.
