I can sort of understand not wanting to assault in against a long-barrel rifle without a shield and carbines as the argument can be made that charging in blindly underequipped and unprotected just means more dead bodies and you can’t help anyone if you’re dead... but now we know they *had* a shield. They had carbines. What the actual hell were these idiots doing?
