Russia is trying to make Kharkiv "a frontline city", Vadym Denysenko, an adviser to the interior minister, has said.

The situation north of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, remains difficult as Russian forces have been trying to get closer to shell the city again, the official told Ukraine's national television.

Meanwhile, the head of Nato has warned that the war in Ukraine could last for years.

"We must prepare for the fact that it could take years. We must not let up in supporting Ukraine," Jens Stoltenberg, the secretary-general of the military alliance, was quoted by Germany's Bild am Sonntag newspaper as saying.

Its not likely Russia will repeat their Kharkiv mistake and drive their tanks through the city streets.

More likely they'll position 1,000 - 2,000 artillery tubes 15 miles out and redirect rail lines to keep them fed.

It's not like Ukraine can prevent this.

Translation: The international left can't use Covid anymore as cover to transform the world so the war will have to serve as replacement cover. As such, both sides must be resupplied no more than necessary to keep the war going.

Greatly doubt active fighting for Kharkov any time soon and surely not before Donbass is Nazi-free; this move is only to maintain the pressure. The most Russians will do in that area for now is liberate a few small towns and/or cut some roads.

Meanwhile the interesting bit of news is that Aidar apparently surrendered, ringleaders are in custody. And they were not even surrounded.

Aidar is another Nazi unit, in Azov style, known from yet 2014 events.

When Nazi units surrender, regulars sure notice.

Uke forces were trained specifically for this type of warfare, this should not be a surprise, their trainers are the same that trained Syrian Islamists (aka “Freedom Fighters”).

And likewise, the Russians are using the Syrian lessons in dealing with terrorists.
